Good morning. The sun is out! Yeah, it's Friyay. You might be in the mood for something fun and freakin lekke' to eat. The chef of The Cork Eatery • Wine Bar asked me if I like bunny chows, and I said of course. He promised to make one, even though it's not on the menu, because he likes it too. Yesterday was bunny chow day. It was finger-licking good. The mutton curry had a nice bite to it, the bread was fresh and it came with a side salad of carrots and cole slaw. It's not on the menu, but you can ask the chef if you can prebook a bunny. He will give you the choice between chicken or mutton. I asked for mutton.

There's a new cook in town at Hook Line and Sinker . The death of legendary food phenomena and Pringle icon Jacqui Gertsner left a big hole not just in the village, but also on our restaurant scene. If you were wondering about the welfare of the restaurant and whether the legacy will continue, rest assured that her niece Anel Malherbe has taken over the reigns and the food is still good. On Thursday nights there's an opportunity for the locals to hang out at this famous eatery. For only R185 pp. If you take your own wine there's a corkage fee of R60. Book early to avoid disappointment. I'm still licking my lips after that lekker 3-course meal last night. There was a nice and cosy atmosphere and lots of banter around the tables. The creme brulee was top notch. I can see Jacqui giving a rare smile of approval.
