# Ewu! Laphinda las’lahla futhi icala, we have lost our beloved co-founder, photographer Mr Vice Madlokovu Nene. His incredible vision and passion for capturing life’s most beautiful moments have left an indelible mark on us and the lives of those who knew him.

His creativity and dedication inspired the Avant Garde fraternity, and his legacy will continue to live on through his breathtaking photographs and the memories we’ve shared.

# With great sadness, we announce the loss of our beloved Avant Gardist, Mpumelelo Maqanda. An Avant Garde life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. We mourn the passing of MaQ. May his soul rest in beats and rise in eternal glory. Lala ngokuthula mfo waka Maqanda, ukufa kuyi nuku.

Please note funeral arrangements will not be published, due to the Government COVID-19 regulations which have been put in place by the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta), governing who may attend a funeral under the COVID-19 enforced lockdown.

Well this brother right here has poetry which is a fusion of Tsotsitaal, English, Zulu and Sotho. Interspersed into an uncompromising depiction of township life, exploring issues which affect his community such as, unemployment and crime.

He has performed at various events such as the Botsotso Poetry Festival, the Jozi Spoken Word Festival, Speak the mind (Arts Alive Festival), Be Connected International Festival, Music Mayday Festival, Poetry Africa and Wordnsound literary festival. He also has an album titled "I Am Not Going Back To the township". The album features Samthing Soweto, Impande Core and radio presenter Khanyi Magubane. He states that his album is about re[de]fining the black person’s identity by scrutinizing history and the effects of historical events on particularly black Africans
