MORIRI HAILS FROM MATIBIDI MPUMALANGA
SPORTS ALERT |

FOOTBALL - Did you know that former Mamelodi Sundowns FC player, Surprise Moriri hails from Matibidi in Mpumalanga province. Matibidi is a village near tourists attraction town of Graskop. The village is situated in the western areas of Bushbuckridge communities.

The midfield maestro is one of several Sundowns' legends with a decorated football career. He also played for Bafana Bafana where he was also regarded as a player with "a rare football intelligence" by former Bafana coach coach Carlos Alberto Pereira. Before joining the Brazilians, he played for the now defunct Platinum Stars where the team was coached by current TS Galaxy FC coach Owen Da Gama.

After an illustrious career at Downs, Moriri joined Highlands Park FC where he played one season before he hang his boots. He now works as a development coach for Downs young players.
