Ingredients:
1 red cabbage, grated or finely chopped
½ red onion, chopped
1 bobotie cook-in sauce sachet
1 tsp Cape Malay curry spice
1 clove garlic, chopped
250 ml milk
2 eggs
Oil, for frying
Bay leaves (optional)
1 sachet tomato paste
Instructions:
Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Sauté the onions, garlic, and Cape Malay curry spice until fragrant.
Add the grated cabbage, tomato paste, bobotie cook-in sauce, and 200 ml of the milk to the pan. Stir well and allow to simmer until the cabbage softens and absorbs the flavors.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and the remaining 50 ml of milk.
Transfer the cabbage mixture to an oven-safe dish. Pour the custard mixture over the top, and add a few bay leaves for extra flavor if desired.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 30 minutes, or until the custard sets and the top is golden.
Serve warm with rice, sambals, or a fresh green salad for a complete meal.

It's so easy to forget what you've accomplished during the year. When I started looking for videos to join the 2024 season recap trend, I honestly didn’t know what I could use. But as I went through the year, I realized I had too much to choose from. 🥹
This year was filled with milestones that reminded me of how far I’ve come:
✨ Worked with Foodies of SA and became one of 100 top creators featured in their new recipe book.
✨ Launched my blog AND my premix brand.
✨ Published FOUR recipes in The Great Marula Menu and attended its book launch.
✨ Featured in the Old El Paso recipe book.
✨ Top 10 Finalist in the Top Lifestyle Foodie Influencer Search.
✨ My first magazine feature with TWO pages AND six recipes in one issue.
✨ Hosted my first home cooking demo AND did a cooking demo at Decorex.
✨ Part of the media for The Good Life show.
✨ Worked with incredible local brands like Marty's, Secco, Floriography, Herbivore, 2 Brothers and SupaMama.
✨ Appeared on Die Eetkamer.
🎉 Got to eat at one of the top reztaurants in SA
✨ And most of all, I got to see myself grow—in my passion, in my confidence, and in what I am able to share with the world.
Of course, it wasn’t all highs. There were plenty of “no’s” and tough moments, but I’ve learned to take those setbacks as lessons. It’s not about having a perfect year; it’s about what you choose to take with you into 2025.
Going into the new year, I want to remind myself (and you!) to check in regularly and celebrate every win—big or small. Here's to growth, resilience, and a year full of opportunities ahead! 🥂💫

We usually forget our anniversary or there's someting pops up and we can't celebrate it. This year I made sure we had plans and that we're going to make up for all the celebrations lost 😂

Started with their very exclusive gin that had a rooibos infused ice cube
THE DOVE'S NEST
The dish is shaped like an egg and we got to dip our bread in the filling. Flavoured so well and presented so well.
BREAD & CHARCUTERIE
We got to choose 1 butter and 2 meats. We both went with wagyu and duck (the pressure was too much), truffle butter and snoek. The sourdough bread was perfect and everything complemented each other so well.
TUNA 'LA COLOMBE'
This dish was so interactive as you had to open up the tuna can to reveal the amazingly delicious food.
NAMIBIAN CRAB, GAMEFISH, NAHN JIM
We were able to eat with our hands which adds to the experience. Every tiny detail on the pastry shell hits each and every taste bud.
CAPE COASTLINE
This was absolutely amazing! The dish is inspired by chef's childhood. The plate is custom made (all of them are) but what makes this one impressive is that on the left of the plate it's Cape Peninsula and the right is Betty's bay. The food is plated in False bay.
PASSION FRUIT SORBET
Absolutely delicious! Still thinking about it and how perfectly balanced it was.
LAMB, POMME PURÉE, CELERIAC
Clay baked lamb with a jus that took 5 days. I don't usually like lamb due to the taste but I absolutely LOVED this. I'll have my lamb La Colombe style from now on please 😉 For this dish we were allowed to choose our own knife to use and again, the pressure was too much for me 😂
CHEESE & HONEY
Presented in a beautifully crafted honey pot where each layer revealed a cheese and honey dish. Served with three different crackers
