Chantel Pasquelle, 40, was allegedly murdered by a close family member.

Chantel was admitted to hospital in June after she was stabbed and assaulted, allegedly by a close family member in her home in Hanover Park. She died in hospital due to her severe injuries on 28 July 2024.

It is alleged that Chantel’s family alerted the police on the day of the incident. Witnesses said that police arrived at the scene and could hear Chantel screaming for help inside the house. Yet they decided to get into their cars and left the woman in distress.

After the family finally gained entry to the house, they found Chantel with a head injury, bruises, and multiple stab wounds. The family rushed Chantel to the hospital, where she fell into a coma. Chantel succumbed to her injuries on 28 July 2024.

Police confirmed that the attempted murder case has been changed to a murder case. The investigation is ongoing, and no one has been arrested yet.

We are deeply outraged by the police's incompetence in supporting a woman in distress. What actions are being taken against police officers who fail to provide adequate support in such situations? And on top of this, why has no one been arrested yet? Chantel could be alive!

We are heartbroken over the loss of such a beautiful soul. Fly high, Sister.
