We have the pleasure of featuring the newest member of our JAKE media family today—the incredibly talented, kind-hearted, and beautiful Elani de Beer!

Elani holds a BA Hons. in Graphic Design from the North-West University and has called Potchefstroom home since the age of three. She’s married to her “best friend” and enjoys every second of “doing life” with him. She believes that pursuing a creative path has always been her purpose, and it’s in these meaningful moments of design that she finds the inspiration to create something special. “I believe that kindness and genuine connection are where the magic happens,” she says.

Aside from working as a graphic designer, Elani loves exercising and staying active—it's her happy place. She also enjoys spending time outdoors, going on coffee dates, and cherishing moments with friends and family.

She is humble and won’t necessarily mention it, but the multi-talented Elani is the author and illustrator of three published children’s books. That, and she’s been the recipient of numerous Pendoring Awards for animation, illustration, and publication design, as well as the recipient of a 2020 Loerie Award for publication design. We feel like we’re the winners of a big, distinguished award by having you on the JAKE media team, Elani! We’re so excited for the adventures ahead! 🌼

Ladies and gents, meet another member of our dream team: the kind, passionate and super-skilled Tiina! 🎨

Tiina’s not just a shameless art lover, hopeless romantic, incredible content creator and inside-out beautiful person… She’s also the piece of this magical puzzle we didn’t know was missing until the day she walked through our doors!

From home décor to books to visual arts and more - Tiina adores art in all its forms. She finds inspiration in people’s stories, quiet moments and the outdoors and, when she’s not exploring some creative avenue in her work or personal life, you’ll find her indulging her love for research, education and spending time with her loved ones - that includes her fur friends!

Tiina absolutely shines when it comes to organising any- and everything and has a knack for getting to the heart of a project or idea. She’s all about digging deep and truly understanding things - a real superpower in our fast-paced, ever-evolving industry.

We often hear how she feels lucky to be a part of the team, but honestly, we're the lucky ones! ✨🩵

We celebrate Johan Van Zyl for the incredible role he plays in each of our lives and for inspiring, guiding, and supporting our team in a way we all look up to. We are also thankful for a leader who always and truly goes the extra mile to make a positive difference in our workplace and teaches us something new every day!

We’re proud to feature another one of our incredibly talented graphic designers today. It’s impossible to paint a complete picture of the exceptionally multi-talented and kind-hearted Laché Oosthuizen, but allow us to try...

With a passion for design and typography and a knack for bringing ideas to life and expanding the boundaries of existing brand identities, Laché has a unique ability to transform concepts into captivating visual stories that leave a lasting impression! Although we’ve been privileged to experience Laché creating design magic at JAKE media for over a year, we continue to be blown away by her creativity and design skills!

Laché, who grew up in the east of Johannesburg with parents who always encouraged creativity and art appreciation, holds a BA Honours in Graphic Design from North-West University (NWU). Personality-wise, Laché falls in the Myers-Briggs “Adventurer” category—and a more fitting and accurate match doesn’t exist! Adventurers like Laché are colourful and charming and known for kindness, their artistic skills, and finding new things to explore and experience. In true adventurer style and in addition to being a designer, Laché loves baking or cooking for friends and family, losing herself in a new TV series, or grabbing a sundowner someplace new. Her kindness also shines through in her thoughtfulness—always remembering details, seeing and sharing beauty in special gifts and thoughts!

You bring so much to our JAKE media family, Laché, and we are so incredibly excited for all the adventures we’re still to have with you by our side! 🌼

We have the pleasure of featuring one of our extremely talented graphic designers today! Meet the very knowledgeable, always timely, very creative, and soft-spoken Eugene Marais.

Eugene holds a BA honours degree in Psychology as well as a BA degree in Graphic Design. With his patient, caring, and gentle nature, Eugene brings a calmness to our office, a deep understanding, and well-thought-through ideas to every new project.

From ancient history to the different sides of current affairs, Eugene’s knowledge seems to know no limits, and he is the first person we turn to when we “fact-check” our own knowledge. Eugene not only has a big appetite for LIFE and learning, but also for a good book, an engaging movie—and most of all, something [good] to eat!

Eugene says his favourite thing about working at JAKE media is “the people”; for us, one of our favourite things about working at JAKE media is EUGENE. Thank you for always providing an ear, a shoulder, a joke, a piece of very useful information, and an exceptionally skilled creative eye that meets all our deadlines.
