The Boardtalk Story

Growing and improving with each issue is the catalyst, and so it goes on ! Port Elizabeth a small pretty laid back community does not help matters so growth seemed to be at it’s peak ! yet dogged determination and passion is starting to make a difference !

Luckily for Boardtalk Louis Wulff from East London, a seasoned campaigner when it comes to surf mags, both nationally and internationally with many many years at Zig Zag, expressing a keen interest to get involved - a outlet for his passion when it comes to the East Coast, surfing and photography the driving factor . Over the last 5 issues a remarkable turnaround has been achieved and we have been blessed to be able to slowly and steadily increase the page count as well as distribution, spreading the stoke more and improving with each issue that comes along. Thankfully more people have stepped up and come forward to get involved, passionate about surfing people which truly makes this a first as a community driven local surf mag done by the people for the love - as the saying goes “Local is lekka”

PHOTO TOGS

Our Photo Togs are definately some of the best in the country, the waves the same - the surfers all tops so what a combo we have in our midsts to expose! Our first 15 covers reflect this talent, a combination of all 3 factors.

SURFING COMPANIES

Solid support from the local Surf Industry as well as Durban and Cape Town also coming onboard to support surfing in the Eastern Cape with loads of footprints prowling our little slice of paradise ! Surfing South Africa has also been one of our top supporters in our goal to support and expose development surfing which has a very strong influence along our coastline. This has resulted in Boardtalk spreading our wings a little further up the coast. So from Transkei, East London, Port Alfred, Port Elizabeth, Jeffreys Bay and up to Mossel Bay with all the little nookies and crannies in between, thats Boardtalk land.

EX-PAT DEMAND FOR BOARDTALK GROWING

Too many expats and people from far have been asking for Boardtalk which has led to establishing the website, now making it possible to spread the stoke even further electronically ! Hard Copies of the first 14 Issues are proudly displayed in the World History of Surf Museum with Al Hunt in Aus, still an avid supporter of the good old fashioned hard copy that will always remain a top priority.

So as Buzz Lightyear would say ! Up Up and away !
