The Minster of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, Barbara Creecy along with Deputy Mayor, Babalwa Lobishe lead the launch of the Municipal Cleaning and Greening Programme in Motherwell today.
This programme aims to clear 7251 illegal dumping hotspots in communities across the country and today, four illegal dumping sites have been cleaned up.
Minister Barbara Creecy also planted indigenous trees at the Peace Park in NU3, Motherwell. These trees absorb the carbon emissions that cars give off, ensuring that the environment is healthier for its residents.
