Motorists are advised to avoid or use alternative routes as the R71 remains backed up and flooded due to a storm passing the Mankweng/Nobody area. Traffic is affected in both directions from the Paledi Mall intersection through to the Nobody area.

The ANC in Limpopo confirmed that the attempted murder case against Jossey Buthane was stuck off the roll this month. The case followed unrest between the ANC and EFF before the elections in May.

The EFF says the Leeto la Polokwane bus service should stop with immediate effect and if not, it should be used to transport learners to and from school instead.

The EFF will lead a peaceful march through the streets of Polokwane today calling for the improvement of basic services from the provincial government. Top of their list is inadequate water supply in the city.

A large part of the city flooded after heavy rains persisted throughout the day today in Polokwane. The South African Weather Service has since issued a level 4 disruptive rain alert for Tuesday that will result in localised flooding as well as poor driving conditions. More on reviewonline.co.za!

Heavy rains caused extensive flooding in the city this morning. In a video sent to the Polokwane Review-Observer, water can be seen gushing down the street as rain continues to fall. Heavy rain in Polokwane has led to flooding in certain parts of the city.
Areas to approach with caution:
- Nikkel Street.
- Nelson Mandela Drive.
- Suid Street.
- Witklip Street, Ladanna.
- Tom Naude intersection.
A severe Level 2 thunderstorm warning is currently in place with rain expected up to Wednesday.

Truck crash on Thabo Mbeki and Dorp Street
⚠ AVOID Thabo Mbeki and Dorp Street ⚠
Emergency services are on the scene where a truck crashed into the wall of Laerskool Pietersburg. A transformer was damaged during the incident. Traffic is currently backed up on both Thabo Mbeki and Dorp Street as a result and motorists are advised to use alternative routes.
