The Capricorn District Municipality has obtained a clean audit in the 2023/24 financial year, cleared off its shortfalls by the Auditor General of South Africa recently.
Clean audits outcomes mean that the municipal grant received in a certain period was used according to the reasons for request or expectation by or from the Department of Treasury.
A truck carrying alcoholic beverages overturned on the N1 bypass near the Tweefontein interchange this morning. The truck was en-route to Thohoyandou from Pretoria. The driver lost control of the vehicle after two back trailer tyres burst. The road was wet at the time due to rainy conditions in Polokwane. The driver and the passenger, who was asleep, had no visible injuries and were yet to be attended by emergency medical services at around 09:45.
Heavy traffic continues on Limpopo’s roads as Christmas Day approaches. Long queues at the Nyl toll plaza has delayed travelling time for many motorists as well as heavy rain travelling to Polokwane. Motorists are urged to travel with caution and keep a safe following distance.
