A SHORT LETTER TO THE FATHER I NEVER MET ON FATHER'S DAY.

I am not mad at you. 38 years into this life journey I realize that each one of us has a life that involves everything we need to face and a relationship between us was not in the plan and I can safely say it's OK.

I don't know what happened between you and mom and the fact that you are not in our lives means it was the best option for both of you and I am genuinely not mad at you for that.

I don't love you because I don't know you and it's really OK.
Do I miss you? Every SINGLE DAY...Do I have daddy issues? YES. FORTUNATELY, the strongest warriors face the toughest challenges which means I am a tough cookie probably a characteristic I got from you because mom is too fragile and would not have survived challenges a daughter faces with an absent father.

It's Father's Day today and a happy day I genuinely hope you had and chances are I do cross your mind every now and again and I am sorry that your challenges and pride do not allow you to man up and come to the party...your loss!

You have a grand daughter and it's a real pity that you have missed an opportunity to meet her and be her grandfather.

I am not mad at you because in life there will be present fathers and absent fathers & it's part of the complexities of life and I so happen to be one of those who deal with an absent father. It's life and its challenges and it really is OK.
This is the first time ever I gather the courage to address you in absentia and it's probably not the last time because it does feel good to release whatever load that's in my heart for my peace of mind because failure thereof would mean I would have to go through life doubting myself and I have no room for that...I will leave it here for now and genuinely wish you a
