This morning a suspect wanted for attempted murder of a police officer was shot and killed by KZN police at Ohlange, KZN.

The suspect fired first upon police arrival, resulting in minor injuries to three officers.

A firearm believed to belong to the suspect was found hidden in the yard of his cousin, who serves in the Metro police.

BREAKING NEWS: FRAUD CASE AGAINST SEKHUKHUNE DISTRICT MUNICIPAL WORKERS POSTPONED
Five Sekhukhune District Municipality officials appeared in Polokwane Specialised Commercial Crimes Court today on charges of fraud, money laundering and contravening Municipal Finance Management Act.

This after they allegedly connived and directed the payment of R5,4 million to companies that never rendered service to the municipality.

The monies were supposed to be paid to the three service providers who were rendering security services, conducting water reticulation and completion of precast VIP toilets structures.

The accused are Andries Mokgotho (45), Bongani Masupye (45), Kedibone Magagane (45), Sivhadana Murovhi (39), and Charles Malema (42).

The matter is postponed to 04 November 2024, for pre-trial.

The accused are out on bail.

JOHANNESBURG - The Hawks are on the lookout for drivers who are using fraudulently obtained licences.

It follows the arrest of 27 traffic officials for allegedly illegally issuing the permits.
The suspects were nabbed in various parts of the province on Monday and Tuesday.

Mpumalanga Hawks head Nicholas Ge**er says the licences can be traced.

Motor Vehicle Accident on Ga Makanye R71 Road

It is alleged that a green Nissan lost one of its tires and then fell into a small bridge designed for water to pass underneath on the Ga Makanye R71 road. Inside the vehicle were a man, his wife, and their child. Fortunately, none of the occupants sustained any injuries.

BREAKING NEWS: MURDER TRIAL AGAINST LIVHUWANI MADADZHE TO BEGIN
The murder trial against comedian and Media Personality, “Captain Sabc Livhu”, real name Livhuwani Madadzhe is set to begin today at the Thohoyandou High Court sitting in Waterval today.

The 39 - year old is accused of the murder of his wife, Lindelani Nengovhela back in 2022.

The body of the 32 - year old was found in a waterlogged hole next to the pit toilet at their home in Thohoyandou.

The accused is out on bail of R50 000.

The much anticipated trial is set to begin today and is expected to run until Friday, the 20th of September.

A man has killed an 18 months old baby at Lusaka in Ritavi outside Giyane in Limpopo. He also attempted to kill his wife and mother in law by hacking them with an axe.

It is reported that the suspect arrived at the place, which nearby there was a ceremony and attacked the mother in law who was carrying the child on her back and later went to his wife,34, and attacked her. He then fled the scene leaving the young child dead.

TREND: COMMUNITY FEAST ON ELEPHANT
Hundreds of villagers from Matiyani village outside Punda Maria under Collins Chabane municipality, Limpopo flocked to the mountain where four elephants were killed to collect their share of the meat.

Christmas came early as residents were supplied with substantial amounts of meat on Monday, 9 September.

Due to the porous fence at the Kruger National Park, the elephants found themselves in the village, posing danger to the residents.

It’s reported that rangers were alerted by residents who first saw the elephants and subsequently killed them.

Another elephant, along with its calf, escaped and returned to Kruger National Park.

Some residents, who received their share of the meat, said they’ve stored it in fridges, cooked it, made biltong, and sold some.

BREAKING NEWS: MAN R**E COLLEAGUE’S CHILD
Lesley Meintjies (24) worked with the 9-year-old child’s mother and because the mother trusted him, she asked him to make tea for her in her room.

The Kimberley Regional Court heard that Lesley was a teenager himself at the time of the crime, he was 19 years old.

“On 3 December 2019, the victim's mother and Lesley were working together, and she sent him to make tea in her room. When he arrived in the room, he found the victim and instead of making tea as requested, he proceeded to r**e the victim twice.

The child immediately told her mother, who then called the police and Lesley was arrested.

During the trial, state prosecutor Nicola van Niekerk argued that the court should sentence Lesley to maximum sentence for such an offence, as Lesley had shown no remorse.

“He betrayed the trust of not only the victim but also that of the mother. He took advantage of a vulnerable child when he should have been a trusted ally of the family,” she said.

In a heart-wrenching incident in Tsakane, Gauteng, 17-year-old Naledi Nkosi was allegedly poisoned at her school on September 5, 2024.
