Early this November, the Australian government announced plans to pass legislation that would prohibit children under 16 from using social media. The legislation would take effect 12 months after being passed, and the government and the different social media platforms (including X, Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram) would have that time to figure out how to exclude Australia's youth from the different platforms.
