The Good Deed with Alta du Toit School!

Last month, a few of our team members had the pleasure of visiting Alta du Toit, a school with a big heart! For 60 years, Alta du Toit has been dedicated to providing education and care to learners with intellectual disabilities who require extensive support.

Before I die, I want to...

The global art project 'Before I Die' possesses the power to captivate anyone, compelling deep introspection. Our team seized the opportunity to jot down their deepest desires (and fears), making a pact to one day, if not now, accomplish and conquer them.

We understand that the marketing industry can be stressful at times, so it’s important for us as a team to zoom out and look forward. The 'Before I Die' global art project gave us the opportunity to understand why we do what we do, reinvigorating our sense of purpose.

Onboarding Team Mobius, let's give a warm welcome to Tara Svensson! This design whizz has joined Mobius Digital as a junior digital designer, and we foresee a great future ahead for her.

We've asked Tara a few questions to get to know her better! Here's what she had to say:

Q: In a world where you can be anything and choose any career path, why did you choose digital design?

A: I've always been interested in technology and keeping up with the latest tech gadgets (and attending every new Apple event), so the digital part was a no-brainer. The design aspect came later; during high school, I excelled in film studies, which led me towards the more creative side of things and finding the meaning behind all things visual and auditory (experiential).

Q: Favourite celebrity couple of all time?
A: Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds

Q: Do you have a career goal set for yourself?
A: My career goal is to master my web development and design skills. I still have a lot to learn in this area, but it's where my passion lies.

Q: Introduce yourself using three words.
A: Kind, friendly, empathetic

Q: If you were an artist what would your pseudonym/stage name be?
A: Sir Francis Dev Montreal

Q: What are you most proud of?
A: On Saturday mornings, I tutor math at underprivileged schools, and over the course of one year, I managed to help four learners progress from struggling students to top achievers.

Q: If you could hang out with any cartoon character, who would you choose and why?
A: Timon and Pumbaa, the most iconic cartoon duo there is! They were my childhood heroes and I’ve always wanted to meet them.

Q: What’s been the most exciting part of your internship?
A: Being involved in the creation of Ad campaigns for clients has been a rewarding experience. Additionally, learning about the different roles in the Mobius team and how they all interlink in marketing has been extremely interesting.

Q: In a world where you could be anything and pursue any career path, why did you choose marketing?
A: I believe marketing is one of the most essential aspects of running a successful business. While all businesses make use of marketing to communicate to consumers, the top brands in the world are those who know how to market themselves well. I find it extremely interesting how marketing differentiates so many businesses and influences success.

Q: What is the most interesting marketing trend you’ve noticed recently?
A: The use of short social media reels to deliver quick and interactive marketing messages to consumers. Instead of conventional advertising, which relates to videos posted online, the use of reels in marketing now allows quick and informative messages that are short enough to ensure no loss of consumer attention when viewing.
