The Coming of C.O.D Records
In early 2007, two potential individuals were motivated in the culture of hip-hop and its origins. As young as they were these two inspired wannabe rappers formed an alliance called “C.O.D” that would motivate them in becoming professional one day but not knowing that it was going to be more than that, their love for music kept a very balanced spirit. Not knowing that one day they would produce music Their early primary years made them construct a different view in the music industry, by 2010 they already recorded their first single together; Tebogo Ntsidi was more on motswako rap than Charles Mc Curtis Mabaso but somehow both their talents fused and they delivered noise in the early ages. In 2011 when Tebogo moved to Welkom for good, things took a shift turn for the duo group, what was once “Cousins Of Destruction” , formally changed into a producing record label when Charles was found by LaBeat Production, the company bought C.O.D and changed it to a profitable label. Now known as “Conquer Our Dreams” in 2013 the record label produced alot of upcoming artists today such as; AsumConnect, EmceeCurtis, N.E.O, El-Soul,Boulevard, Jay’The Monk, Vodoo, and many more the company went on and made numerous amounts of profit with hit mixtapes such as: “Phenomenal Mixtape”, “Arrogance Mixtape”, and with other local artists collaborating with the label with their projects. In 2017 the Record label produced over 32k in the whole year with EmceeCurtis pushing the label to greater heights with performances across the country and sales online rapper EmceeCurtis invested almost half of his earnings to the label, and working with PhenomenalArts.Co in contribution of social events, Events and other works such as the; Food&Music Festival which was hosted at the Klerksdorp Museum. In late 2016 Charles Mc Curtis Mabaso went to Welkom for the first time were he met Tebogo and found that Tebogo had distributed his own Production company, this was an advantage when Charles and Tebogo decided to make a joint merge with Rural Swagg’s Ultiomate Production and Conquer Our Dreams Records.
