Joint Initiative: BBKTA, Simon Masenya Film Production, and Raphurele High School Empower Students
On 24th January 2025 the Bakgatla Ba Kgafela Traditional Administration (BBKTA) in collaboration with Simon Masenya Film Production, joined forces with Raphurele High School to address the entire student body.

LONG ROAD TO JUSTICE: Molotsi's Trial Postponed to March 2025

Kagiso Molotsi, a 37-year-old resident of Phalane, appeared in the Mogwase Regional Court to face serious charges of r**e and murder. The allegations relate to the tragic death of 22-year-old Dineo Patricia Tiro, whose body was discovered in an abandoned building on September 27, 2021.

A thorough investigation led by Colonel Pheko of the Sun City police resulted in Molotsi's arrest on August 25, 2024. The investigation involved gathering substantial evidence, including DNA samples, witness interviews, and forensic data.

Molotsi confessed to the crimes and was taken to the crime scene, where he pointed out the location of the incident. However, he showed no remorse during his court appearance. The case has been postponed to March 20, 2025, to allow Molotsi time to find a lawyer.

MURDER AND ROBBERY INVESTIGATION IN TLHABANE.

The Tlhabane police have launched an investigation into a murder and robbery following the fatal shooting of an armed response officer in Rustenburg North.

According to police reports, the incident occurred on Saturday, January 18, 2025. Officers on patrol in the Noord area were alerted to a shooting on Napoleon Street. Upon reaching the scene, they discovered a white Datsun Go vehicle belonging to a private armed response service stationed in front of a gate.

Inside the car, the driver—a 43-year-old African male—was found deceased. He had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the neck and was lying in a pool of blood. Authorities have confirmed that the victim, who was on duty at the time, was an armed response officer.

Further investigations revealed that the officer's firearm was stolen during the attack, suggesting a possible motive for the crime.

The police have urged the community to assist with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) involved. Anyone with knowledge about the incident is encouraged to contact the Tlhabane Police Station or call the Crime Stop hotline at 08600 10111. All information shared will remain strictly confidential.

The investigation is ongoing.
