The Vaal dam has risen more than 10% in a week.

From Monday to Sunday, the Vaal Dam experienced a significant increase in water levels, with a rise of more than 10% to a capacity of 35.99%, from 24.25% on Monday. This increase is attributed to the overflow of the Grootdraai dam, which releases excess water due to heavy rainfall in the area. The flooding of Grootdraai has contributed to a much needed relief for the Vaal dam, which is confronted with critically low levels.
