Mlue records Record Label,Artist management,Distribution,Events and Publishing This led to a start of a great venture between them, starting a music record label.

BIOGRAPHY:

Two guys (Tobias Mlungisi Khumalo AKA Mluekhumalo & Abel Kgala Kgafe AKA Dj Smart, both very passionate about music, met and decided to work together doing sound hiring, music production and deejaying. Slowly they bought studio equipments and before they knew it, people around the whole township were flocking into the “studio” to record their demos. They used a garage to set up this “

studio” every Sunday and move the whole studio in the afternoon hence they dubbed it ‘a mobile studio’. ABOUT THEIR MUSIC CAREER:

The guys decided to make it official and registered the record label on the 31st of August in 2009. At this time they had two recognisable artists, Smartology – a group of producers & Dj’s made out of MlueKhumalo, Dj Smart and Dj Thermal, and Phumy –an afro pop singer/vocalist. They released their first compilation, Smartology house mix 1-mixed by Dj Mlue, which they marketed and distributed by themselves. Featuring the likes of Phumy, Hlamy, on vocals and other local producers. It was after they released their album that they met other Dj’s/producers and vocalists in the industry locally. But meeting Dj Aero and mOgrigo (Herbal 3Records) was the highlight of their career because, after they were joined by Dj/vocalist (Ncediwe), Dj Aero and mOgrigo remixed her debut track titled Apology. This marked their first release on digital, an EP-Smartology ft Ncediwe – Apology (which was uploaded simultaneously with the Smartology house mix). The label continued to hustle and signed another producer/Dj Geopathegroove and another female Dj “Lady Moyah”.The healthy relationship between the two labels (Mlue records & Herbal3 records) led into a compilation released by Herbal 3 records & distributed by Soul Candi featuring six tracks from Mlue records artists. Mlue records are currently working on dropping another compilation, a debut for Geopathegroove, and afro pop album for Phumy. The label focuses mainly on House and Afro pop music production, Dj bookings, Artist management, sound hire, Events and recordings.
