water ; the state of being

An "existential documentary" by Tali Lehr-Sacks, 2018.

Exploring the idea of what gives people purpose and meaning in their lives, shown in fragments of conversations I've had, stitched together.
Just like water, human beings exist in multiple different states of emotion and understanding.
We, as a community on this earth, flow and experience things non-stop. Thus, we are connected through our shared consciousness and experiences (whether we like it or not).

I had so much fun making the visuals to William Gerdes' incredible live electronic music at Engelsholm Højskole!

These were made digitally using and performed live on stacked analog block TVs surrounding the dance floor.

Another amazing experience collaborating with Mathilde Pedersen & aitiaideuterai on their performance at Engelsholm Højskole 🧿

These audio-reactive visuals I made digitally using , and were playing on multiple stacked old-school analog block TVs surrounding the dance floor and behind the stage. The middle row of TVs showing live footage of the performers (not seen very well in this video).

Some visuals I made in a an amazing collaboration concert between Engelsholm Højskole's VJs and electronic music students. Performed on the stage in front of the visuals showing on the stacked old school TV "rainbow" ✨✨ This collab was with the lovely Marie P Nielsen, who makes her music purely out of samples she's recorded herself with the sounds she's found in her environment.
That's why these visuals involve familiar things you'd find surrounding you - like people, buildings, roads and vehicles.

These visuals are a mix between analog & digital, seen on Engelsholm Højskole's "block TV rainbow" in the basement. I really dig the "natural vs mathematical" combo and how well they actually work together.
The middle row is analog and audio-reactive - made using a video mixer and synthesiser with all sorts of patches I played around with (I liked this visual because it looks like wobbly dancing trees haha). The top and bottom rows involve some midi-controlled mathematical lines and patterns I actually programmed from scratch first on on my laptop and then put into the analog TV system with a bit of feedback

Made some analog audio-reactive black and white visuals with rad setup!
They have ab Edirol V-4 mixer and an LZX Vidiot analog video synthesiser - an easy to use lightweight analog setup, definitely on my "to get to make all the trippy things" list ✨✨
