At yesterday’s B Lab Africa Summit 2024, the Afrikan Liberation Hub team got to hear from Pedro Tarak, co-founder of Sistema B, RiTA and IMPACT TRADE, who hosted a workshop on impact trade regions.

Pedro stressed the importance of considering how one's own region (or province) can develop its uniqueness and singularity of purpose around issues like regeneration of ecosystems, cultures and indigenous knowledge. He also encouraged attendees to engage local stakeholders in one's region to start dialogues around joining agreements that benefit both the region and global challenges.

You can catch Pedro at our Afrikan Liberation Gathering on September 14th, where he will be discussing “South to South Solidarity: Co-creating global futures towards economic innovation. A Latin American Perspective.”

SEPTEMBER is National Deaf Awareness Month!!
🇿🇦 🤟 🌎

The theme in 2024 is "TRUST & LOVE" aimed to promote understanding and breaking down barriers faced by the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community in South Africa.

September is also the International Month for Deaf People, commemorating the first World Congress of the World Federation of the Deaf, which took place in September 1951. The theme in 2024 is "SIGN UP FOR SIGN LANGUAGE RIGHTS."

This month is an opportunity to reflect on the progress made and the work still needed to ensure full inclusion for Deaf individuals worldwide.
