Originally envisioned as "Adventures of Luke Starkiller:

The Star-Haunting Jedi Knight," the name lacked the punch and mysticism that Star Wars embodies.

Thankfully, George Lucas ditched the mouthful for something simpler and more evocative.

"Star Wars" sparked imaginations and launched a sci-fi saga that's become a pop culture phenomenon.
