POLICE COUPLE MURDER IN DITHAKONG.

A 58-year-old police officer allegedly shot dead his 46-year-old wife before turning the gun to himself on Saturday in Dithakong near Mahikeng.

The warrant officer was attached to the Mahikeng Public Order Police.

Both their bodies were found lying in the bedroom with gunshot wounds.

"The wife was certified dead at the scene while the husband was taken to Mahikeng Provincial Hospital for medical treatment." said police spokesperson Sabata Mokgwabone.

"However, he was certified dead at the hospital. The motive of the incident is unknown."

In another incident...

A police officer (50) shot himself dead in Potchefstroom on Sunday.
The 50-year-old lieutenant was attached to the Tactical Response Team.
