Its the most difficult thing yet ppl think its easy
# as a Dj u exposed between 2 types of an Audience,
1. those that wanna hear new music, listen to sequence and timing and how serious u take your craft and....
2. Those that dont mind hearing what they have on their USBs, what they are familiar with, those that dont mind u playing same set 9 weekends as long as ivuthela nje kibo ku right, they dont care whether u even play via an I-pod, Laptop, or cassette they just wanna party🎉🎊🎉
The politics of who is better amongst both these djs from the audience is the most boring of them all, coz both these type of spinners are important, in my view who wants to turn up exactly same time they arrive at a joint, for argument sake say you arrive at a joint 17h00 in the afternoon , do u wanna be on some dance music vele 🤔🤔 absolutely no, so i say as a dj know your time slot, lay it out soulfully especially on early slots (play those vocals, introduce new music and connect with your crowd musically).
Lastly in my opinion especially when u are a deep house dj, choose your venues and joints stop criticizing other genres and other djs choice of music if for instance u wanna play at certain commercialized venues dont demand playing after 22h00 the owners have targeted a specific clientele for their own businesses (do what the romans do in rome or take the early slots period) there is joints that are strictly for Deep house search and find them and enjoy.
