Jesus JunXion – Proclaiming Freedom, Restoring Hope

Founded on this promise, Jesus JunXion has been a place of refuge, healing, and restoration for over a decade. Established with a deep burden for the broken, we have worked to bring beauty instead of ashes, joy instead of mourning, and praise instead of despair (Isaiah 61:3). Our mission is simple yet powerful—to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those in need. At the heart of Jesus JunXion is a dedicated team, anchored in faith and love:

Gwen and Andre du Preez: The founders, who first answered God’s call to bring hope to the lost. Sloan and Chantell: Faithfully serving in ministry and management, ensuring the ministry thrives in the North West province. Gwen Dwyer: The mother of us all—the one who carries us in prayer, keeps us grounded, and nurtures this ministry with wisdom and unwavering faith. In the past fourteen years, Jesus JunXion has established soup kitchens, homes of safety for abused and abandoned children, and places of solitude for the weary. Through these efforts, countless lives have been touched, not just with physical provision but with the life-transforming love of Christ. On November 5, 2020, Jesus JunXion expanded its mission through Anchored in Hope—a new chapter dedicated to taking the gospel to the coastal regions of South Africa and Africa. Gwen and Andre, stepping out in faith, embarked on a journey aboard a 34-foot sailboat, bringing the hope of Christ to those along the shores. Through this journey, we have learned that true hope is found only in Jesus. The things we once held dear have faded, replaced by a deeper trust in the One who called us first. No matter our failures, no matter our missteps, God remains faithful—providing, guiding, and revealing His purpose in ways we never imagined. Jesus JunXion continues to serve the North West province with unwavering commitment, ensuring that those in need do not go unnoticed. Every meal served, every child rescued, every heart encouraged is a testimony of God's relentless love. We are a people called by God, planted as oaks of righteousness to display His splendor. This is Jesus JunXion.

Thursday Night: The Weight Before the Whip...

It’s Thursday.
Not Easter Sunday.
Not the silence of Saturday.
It’s the night before.
The night of the breaking bread, the basin and towel,
the whisper of betrayal in a friend’s breath.

And my heart sits heavy.
Because Jesus knew.
He knew what tomorrow held—
the thorns, the spit, the lash of injustice.
He knew pain was coming.
Still… He stayed.
He didn’t run.
He didn’t rage.
He washed feet.
Even the ones that would soon walk away.

I think of my own heart tonight.
The places I’ve run from.
The moments I’ve clenched my fists instead of opening my hands.
The seasons I’ve been more Judas than John.
But He-Jesus, my Jesus-chose surrender.
He chose the Garden.
He chose the cup.
He chose me.

Thursday is where the weight is felt
before the whip is swung.
Where the soul is pressed in Gethsemane
and still says,
“Not my will, but Yours be done.”

And so tonight, I sit with Him.
I don’t rush to Sunday.
I sit in the sorrow,
and I whisper back the words He once bled:
"It is finished"
