We also enjoy singing our favourite songs... This is a cover of Ariana Grande's song arranged by another band, third story led by Mthabisi G-clef Sibanda with Sfiso Atomza and KekeLingo KekeLingomusic on backing vocals. Simz Kulla is recording the video. We're also performing inside a clothing store because any place where the music happens, is a stage. Keep the music alive!

A review of a recent show I had.

About The Muffinz' Homecoming show

Summary: What a treat.

I think I last saw the band perform at the Delicious Festival in 2015. Before that, I had been to a few shows and thought I knew what to expect, but nope… it is a new day.

My first impression is that they have grown … they are seasoned. They have retained their playfulness but abaphaphi. There is a maturity and intent-fulness in their performance now. Their approach is less constrained, as evidenced by the live ‘remixes’ of their hits. I heard a few of my favourites but not the renditions I know. This time, you don't sing along unless invited to … it's their show (lol) [case in point: Umsebenzi Wendoda and Ghetto].

The set was a wonderful and eclectic mix of genres … The Muffinz flowed seamlessly from reggae to Boys2Men’esque harmonies; from classic Kwaito jams to new renditions of South African favourites (think Simphiwe Dana, Hugh Masekela etc.) to taking us to church (this was one of the surprises and highlights)! That Wamkelekile song (or offering) is simply sublime … I was too captivated to record it – regret.

Whereas there used to be two stand out performers, now the whole band gets to shine! The distinct personalities and abilities of each member come to the fore brilliantly … it is very refreshing to experience a cohesive unit made up of individual stars!

All in all, a special and worthwhile evening out. Well done, congratulations and thank you to The Muffinz for a stellar show! Bravo!
