As with the last video, we also had to keep our distance when it came to gathering footage for this project. It took careful concept development and creative direction to escape the “human crossword puzzle” cliche of most virtual choir videos. So we got everyone to shoot their own scenes following our meticulously worked out storyboard. We had such a blast bringing this one together… I mean… keeping our distance…

In April of 2020 we were all really starting to feel the effects of lockdown… so it helped that we could connect with our friends in the South African music biz to create this video. For this particular target audience of DStv viewers, a cast of Kyknet characters with a unique brand of silliness was needed. A bit of light-hearted fun in the midst of all the madness.

What was originally envisioned as a standard music video quickly evolved into our first virtual music video just days before South Africa went into lockdown in March 2020. With Roedean School shut down and its students at home, creativity and ex*****on became crucial. The results speak for themselves. We are so proud to have been asked to direct and produce this video. In 2019 we had the pleasure of working with the incredibly talented Rustenburg Hoërskool choir (under the baton of choir master Ralf Schmitt of Ndlovu Youth Choir fame) to create this music video. Filming in the historic Rand Club in Joburg was an incredible experience. Add to that the iconic music of Queen brought to life by young South African Talent. MAGNIFICO-O-O-O-O-O!
