Edition 5 of Collective Action Magazine is out!
In this edition, we explore the different expressions and impact of Gender-Based Violence on vulnerable communities. Acknowledging that women, children, men, people with disabilities, the youth, the elderly, and the LGBTQIA+ community are the bedrock of society, we highlight how GBV manifests and affects each of these groups.
As South Africa celebrates the 30th anniversary of its liberation, we honor the efforts that achieved our freedom—a freedom meant for all, without exclusion. Addressing the issue of gender-based violence, we must see this as a call to action, a sign that together, as a unified society, we possess the strength to overcome this challenge and safeguard the precious freedom we have secured.

Assault and neglect during pregnancy and childbirth can lead to preventable maternal death, neonatal disability, and newborn death. The United Nations terms this preventable maternal mortality GBV; perhaps we can also call it femicide.
