Civil unrest and looting was one of the disturbing moments South Africa had. People were taking goods from small and large business. Some were breaking properties ,reason being to release former president Jacob Zuma. This caused tragic deaths, arrests and incidents which made hospitals full. This led high rate of unemployment and increased government burden which decreased economic growth and development. The President promised people that things will get back to normal and people will be funded. South Africa let’s unite and stop violence as it doesn’t solve anything but create big problems. Together we can rebuild our economy.

The looting led to closure of roads, such as the N2 & N3, 200 shopping centers where looted, 90 pharmacies were destroyed and 49 000 businesses were affected. The unrest and looting has led to shortage of food and medicine. Bheki Cele the minister of police confirmed that there is a death toll of least of 78 and 25 people were apprehended. The economy declined drastically and the South African rand weakened by 2%.The Civil unrest and looting has impacted everyone, particularly the youth, it was confirmed that most of the looters were the youth, which shows lack of discipline and 129 000 were lost, which caused the increase in youth unemployment rate, which is 32,6 % and the overall unemployment rate is 78,9%. A total of 32 Schools were destroyed in KZN, minimizing the chances of the youth to learn in a suitable environment and Teacher's union Naptosa reacted to this by saying "stealing objects and equipment from a school is contemptible, but stealing the future of innocent children and disrupting their lives is unforgivable". It is evident that the unrest and looting affected the youth tremendously and we must unite and work closely to repair their lives.
