Justice for Zintle Takane: Case Postponed

The murder case of Zintle Takane has been postponed to 25 March 2025 for further investigation. Accused 1, Sakhumzi Mhaga, remains in custody, while accused 2, Vuyani Khahlana, is still out on bail. Initially denied bail over concerns of witness tampering and fleeing, Khahlana later secured release. The community continues to rally for justice in Takane’s tragic death. Updates will follow as the case progresses.

We’re live at the Fort Beaufort Magistrate Court for the latest proceedings in a murder case. Accused number 1, Sakhumzi Mhaga, is on his way from King Williams Town Correctional Services, while accused number 2, Vuyani Khahlana, is outside the court, as he is out on bail.

Activists Zandile Thengela and Zanele Mali, along with community members, are present, showing strong interest in the case.

Healdtown Learner Overcomes Health Challenges to Achieve 5 Distinctions

Ratiloe Mothlabane, a learner from Healdtown Comprehensive School, has achieved an admission to a Bachelor’s degree with 5 distinctions despite facing immense health challenges during her matric year. Her sister, Karabo Mothlabane, shared the inspiring story:

“Ratiloe was hospitalized three times last year, missing her matric dance and valedictory. Even the week before her final exams, she was in hospital. But look at God – we prayed, and He answered,” Karabo said.

Ratiloe’s resilience is a testimony of faith and determination, marking the beginning of greater things ahead.
