As we celebrate and act against gender based violence the 16 days of activism is a no play, but the get together by bringing awareness in combating women and children abuse. By so doing we involve different stakeholders such as SAPS, SASSA, Clinic\ Health, Schools, Churches and many, therefore the District and local municipality created an environment whereby the breaking of silene is encouraged, our women and children reassured and empowered to come forth break silence and save lives, ukuphi umakhelwan? a neighbour who always listen and stand up to check if the other neighbour is still alive, a dedicated one to care and help as together we do more. A candlelight ceremony was to remember those who brutally murdered and died with or without breaking the silence, may their precious souls rest in peace, we also support and protect the women and children who are currently facing the abuse, going forward we say no to r**e, sexual abuse in marriages, no to children abuse, no to alcohol abuse and drug abuse, no to GBV, respect women, provide and protect them at work place, at church, home, streets and everywhere. By signing a pledge we all committed to work together to ensure that our environment is free of crime, diseases such as sti's and HIV/ AIDS the r**es and sexual assaults does not only increase the stats to crime, but increase also to Health the sti's, HIV/AIDS, teenage and unwanted pregnancies, poverty and many thus influence negativity to our victims and increase risk and fatal factors such as isolation, stress, fear, anger, intimidation, stigma and suicidal. Our leaders have also signed a pledge that tells us that enough is enough, Dis genoeg, Sekwanele, Gontse, Ho lekane!!! Not forgetting Women's league.
