Grade Ones Welcomed at Union Preparatory
There was great excitement in the air, and no one expected a welcome shower of rain as the Grade Ones arrived at Union Preparatory School for the first time this morning, just after 07:00. A special guard of honour was formed by the other learners to welcome all the newcomers to the school.
Some Grade Ones couldn’t wait for their parents to leave, while others didn’t want them to go.

This morning the atmosphere at Union High in Graaff-Reinet was electric when last year's matriculants came to get their results directly from the school. Graaff-Reinet Advertiser spoke to a couple of the excited learners about their results and plans for the future.

Na aanleiding van Maandag se grusame kop-aan-kop botsing op die N9 tussen Middelburg en Graaff-Reinet, waar 14 mense hul lewens verloor het, het die inwoners vanoggend om 07:30 by die ingang van 7de Laan, by die Andries Pretorius-standbeeld, bymekaar gekom om te bid vir veiligheid op ons paaie.
Hulle het gebid vir die veiligheid van alle voertuie, bestuurders en passasiers, en ook vir die dorp.
