What makes Eden Fm the Preferred Medium for Exposure to any Business? The radio has been issued a permanent 4-year broadcasting licence by ICASA in June 2007. It has a Large Footprint, broadcasting in the six Major Southern Cape towns on George, Mosselbay, Oudtshoorn, Knysna, Riversdale and Swellendam as well as in all the smaller towns and farms in between. RAMS research proofs that our current listenership is between 185 000 people per week – thus more than 280 000 listeners per month! The radio has a programme format which focuses on news and programming of a local nature, which keeps the Southern Cape listener informed educated and entertained. EdenFM operates with and RDS system has been installed which means listeners driving through EdenFM™ country need not adjust their radios to the different frequencies as the system does this automatically. The station is audio streaming via the internet to the entire world and mobile streaming is also being installed. Advertising packages are being developed where the core value services will be bundled with numerous free services in order to make advertising with the station cost effective and measurable. The station is broadcasting in English, Afrikaans and isiXhosa with content to inform and entertain all sectors of the Eden community. *Garden Route Wildfire Update 3: Melkhoutfontein, Hessequa – 16 December @ 19h15*

Inconsistent and variable winds have caused flare-ups once again. The wildfire has moved both east and west, requiring aerial assistance near structures. All structures in the vicinity remain safe.

Currently, counter burns are being implemented on the west flank to contain the flare-ups. Mopping-up operations will continue throughout the night.

The firefighting efforts are a collaborative endeavor involving GRDM Fire & Rescue Services, Hessequa Municipality Fire & Rescue Services, Working on Fire, local farmers, the SCFPA, and GRDM Fire Volunteers in Hessequa.

If you spot a wildfire, please contact the GRDM Emergency Call Centre at 044 805 5071 or send a WhatsApp message to 081 709 5193.

Today, we brought the excitement of the Eden Streetmile Series live to our listeners from Oudtshoorn! The event saw several records shattered, with athletes delivering outstanding performances.

We're already looking forward to the next leg of the series, taking place this Wednesday in Hartenbos!

A march took place in Oudtshoorn this morning from the SAPS Police Station to the Magistrates Court. The intention of the march, attended by a combination of SAPS, NGO’s and the public in stand against Gender Based Violence and Domestic Violence. A memorandum highlighting the root causes and an appeal for harsher sentences to be passed onto the perpatrators. The day will continue with SAPS going to various areas within Oudtshoorn to speak one on one with members of the communities regarding GBV and Domestic violence.
