In December 2012, I had the opportunity to visit the Great Wall of China. I remember it being freezing, and in this photo, you can actually see the snow behind me on the wall. While I was there, I remember telling myself that I had this one opportunity to take photos and make videos of this place as I would probably never again be here in my life. Later that evening, I checked my SD card and I got what I wanted.

In 2018, Eden Sky Productions helped me make 2 promotional videos for a project called Xplore English. One of these videos was shot in Oudtshoorn and we used local actors. And one of these actors was the incredibly polite, friendly, and professional, Mia le Roux. I clearly remember there being a scene where the actors had to act as volunteers and stick their hands in a big bin filled with elephant feed (lucerne, vegetable peels, etc) and mix it up (top left in the picture). Not many wanted to do this, but Mia was one of the first to step up and literally get her hands dirty. And to me, that says a lot about someone. Mia's in the top 16 for the Miss South Africa pageant and today's the final.
