TAXI DRIVER SHOT DEAD DURING A SHOOTING ng INCIDENT IN BOPHELONG .

A taxi driver who usually works from Vanderbijlpark to Sasolburg was shot dead in his return from Sasolburg by an unknown male in Bophelong on Wednesday evening, 04 October.

According to an eyewitness, when it's late, the taxi drivers normally goes to Bophelong and take passengers to Sasolburg, so on the night of the incident, the driver had just taken passengers from outside of Vaal Mall to Bophelong.

The incident occurred while the passengers were being dropped at their desired destinations. When the taxi reached gas house in Bophelong/Muvhango Ext 2, there were three males standing there and one of them, who looked very young, wearing a hoodie, allegedly asked the taxi to stop and asked whether the taxi was going to Delfos and immediately the driver said no, he was shot three times. He managed to drive for a short distance, hit a tree and tried to get out of the taxi and run away, but unfortunately died few metres from the taxi.

The three males escaped the scene and are still on the run.

The police are investigating a case of murder.
