From the Streets of INK, in KwaZulu Natal - Rifumo Record’s secret project to celebrate 10 years next year.

Rifumo Records is a record label for the young generation of traditional music, the new age of amapiano music, gospel music, house music, jazz and recently we are assessing the band which is located around INK - Inanda, Ntuzuma and KwaMasha.

Our search for the performing band; The band is called "The Music Box Society" which is made of three resident bands namely Tidos Music Band (Jazz), Holy Fire Music Band (Reggae) and Isandiso Music Band (umbhaqanga).

Our 10 years Celebration next year it's on pipeline. We are the home for the best vocalists to complete your music to one perfect and magical piece.

Obituary. Dr Deborah Fraser 😭😭RIP

Who's she? Read below.

Deborah Fraser (June 9, 1965 – May 15, 2022) was a South African gospel singer. She began her career in 1985 as a backing singer, and recorded her own album in 2000, titled Abanye bayombona. The album has sold over 1 million copies. Uhambo is her 10th studio album with 14 songs, including the hit, "Ngeke ngiyeke ukuthandaza".

In 1984, Fraser relocated to Johannesburg and worked as the backup vocalist for Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Lucky Dube, and Brenda Fassie, Hugh Masekela, Jonas Gwangwa.[8]

In the year 2000, her first studio album Abanye Bayombona, was released.[8] Following the success of her first album she was signed by Universal Music

At the 23rd ceremony of South African Music Awards her album Uhambo was nominated for Best Traditional Faith Album.[citation needed]

On 12 April 2019, her studio album OkaJehova Akanqotshwa was released.

Fraser was married to Nigerian pastor Sockey Okeke.[10] In October 2021, Fraser was honored by the Trinity International Bible University with a doctorate of Philosophy in the sacred space of music.

Innocent people were killed for no good reason in Phoenix - KwaZulu Natal during unrest of looting.

KwaMaphumulo born Maskandi Artist Pelepele, who is recently live in Cato Ridge grace the stage during the Durban Beach Festival. The titled albun track 'Umhlaba, an album was released by Rifumo Records.

Delani Khumalo, who was accidental killed travelling with his brother in the car they both lose their lives. The painful part is that Khumalo played an Indian man in a theatre production to celebrate 10 years of democracy in South Africa, way back in. On video clip he's wearing a brown top and blue short.

New Project On Pipeline!

Rifumo Regards in partnership with a parent company Majika Group, had plans to release new album that will compromises eleven tracks, composed in eleven languages and eleven artists working in one project and a programme is geared towards promoting our beloved South Africa.

Operating under the banner ‘Add A Label On It', the initiative is made possible with funding from the Majika Group, a project implemented by the founder, Mr Vincent Maluleke.

Add A Label On It program is a multifaceted initiative aimed at accelerating development and increasing the capacity of the cultural music and teaches our new generation.

We are calling on all eligible artists to seize this opportunity and propose sustainable programmes that are aligned with the clear goals of this initiative.

Add A Label On It aims to reach progressive cultures and creative initiatives across nine provinces in South Africa. The joint initiative is more relevant than ever in times when arts and culture are under duress.”

Music and sound are a universal language that has connected people and communities globally for centuries. It is clear that in South Africa’s vibrant cultural sector, music is a significant force that connects and coexists within a wide range of art forms.

The project’s name "Add a label on it" and focus are influenced by this reality. Additionally, the name speaks to the overarching vision of the project, which is to define a label as a connecting force for the creative industry in South Africa – one that is dynamic, vibrant, more self-sustaining, and loudly heard and seen globally.

Announcements will be made official on due course. Covid-19 restrictions blows out our plans but anyway, are you ready to ADD A LABEL ON IT?

Artists will therefore be challenged to look at sound not only in relation to music but also in related sectors.
