Roma Revolving Restaurant was officially opened in February 1973. The Roma was born form a concept pioneered by Bartholomeo Ribero, Comiso Turi and Gino Leopardi. Now proudly owned by the Reelin Group and managed by the Leopardi brothers.

The restaurant is situated on the 32nd Level of the John Ross House, overlooking the whole of Durban and surrounding areas with excellent sea and bay views. It has a speed control mechanism which allows a revolution of anything between 60 and 90 minutes.

Partner at KZN law firm Pather & Pather found guilty of corruption.

Edward Christopher Abraham, found guilty of corruption after paying a gratification to a Bloemfontein High Court clerk.

An SAPS media statement release confirmed both the sentencing and that this matter was reported to the Hawks Serious Corruption Investigation team based in Bloemfontein.

KwaMashu to Durban train launched !!

Transport minister Sindisiwe Chikunga officially launched the “hi-tech" passenger train on the KwaMashu to Durban corridor, costing commuters under R10 for a single trip.

The new train sets, called Isitimela Sabantu (people’s train), boasts safety features including on-board CCTV cameras, an anti-crash system and air-conditioning.

GRANT-IN-AID FOR NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS IN THE ARTS, CULTURE AND HERITAGE

Non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in the arts, culture, and heritage sectors based in eThekwini are invited to apply for financial assistance through Grant-In-Aid funding to sustain their programmes. Closing date: 31 August 2023.

KZN region targeted by Legal Services Ombud to curb high level of complaints.

The Ombudsman, confirmed this approach in a recent interview. He intends on opening offices in KZN region, either in Durban or Pietermaritzburg.

In his first report, he flagged a concern about declining ethics in the profession. Numerous complaints regarding Durban High Court processes, including abuse of court rolls.

Durban showcased in London today !!

At the UK-Africa Ministerial 2 day roadshow in London today, Stephen Cook, director at Arup UK, shared details of their project with EThekwini Municipality.

The project, a part of the C40 cities sustainable initiative on "Transition to Smart City in Africa".

C40 is a global network of nearly 100 mayors of the world’s leading cities that are united in action to confront the climate crisis.

Durbanite revolutionises Formula 1 racing !!

Dashayin Gilbert, also known as Dash, placed 3rd at the Regeneron Science and Engineering Fair in Atlanta(US) last year, won a cash award in the physics and astronomy category for his motorsport-related project. He was the only South African to receive an award.

In February, he was accepted to study Aeronautics and Astronautics at the University of Southampton, a leading F1 institution for aerodynamicists and now needs to secure funding before September.

He attended Curro Durbanville High School from 2018 to 2022, attaining an 89% matric pass with 7 distinctions.

Queen Mary 2 docks in Durban !!

A warm welcome by Durban mayor Mxolisi Kaunda, highlighting our tourist attractions to the 2000 passengers.
