First, the problem could be caused by multichoice, which may not have sent the required signal to your xtraview subscription. Indeed, DStv can tamper with the HB signal levels from their end. Hence if your previously working xtraview stopped working after you changed your decoder or upgraded/downgraded your subscription, Multichoice should be held responsible.
The DSTV errors e143-4 and e143-0 are triggered when the secondary decoders do not get a signal from the primary decoder. This signal, called the heartbeat pulse, travels along DSTV aerial cable to reach its destination.
