Driving past Misty Cliffs, I spotted a Fishwife carrying her catch and a pile of wild Hyacinth on her head. She was heading to Soetwater for THE GIG OF THE YEAR!!!

Soetwater, right by the sea, offers a chilled Sunday afternoon vibe with food and drinks available. No need to worry about the weather—there's both indoor and outdoor space! It's family-friendly, but no dogs, please—there's a bird sanctuary here. Park by the Big Whale for a whale of a time!

First up, THE FISHWIVES: original writers, singers, and players Celery Burger, Lizzie Lou Gaisford, and actress Karli Heine deliver three-part subversive siren songs and tsunami-chants. Born from late-night jam sessions at the 2013 South African National Arts Festival, their music flows seamlessly from alternative/gothic folk to progressive rock, elevated by iconic vocal harmonies.

Next, HYACINTH WILD: Dave Starke, Lizzie Lou Gaisford, and Strato Copteros craft original music born from deep-forged friendship and musical symbiosis. With a sound merging prog rock, folk, funk, and Americana, they offer a compelling exploration of the human experience.

Finally, THE MISTY CLIFFS: hailing from Cape Town's bustling music scene, this powerhouse trio—legendary Nick Turner on guitar and vocals, Nick Catto on bass and vocals, and Matt Catto on drums and vocals—combine profound experience with infectious energy. Their innovative indie-pop sound is distinctly South African and resonates far and wide. Their live shows are as unpredictable as they are thrilling; expect an epic jam session on the dance floor!

Mix these acts together, and you're in BIG trouble, my friend... With their fresh, vibrant energy and melodious charm, this is going to be a BIG treat!
