What an epic first week of December!

From Africa Games Week (2nd - 5th Dec) with its VIP bus tour, delegate meetings, and taking part in inspiring talks like "Mastering Creative Leadership" and the panel discussion "Are We Good Enough?".

To our Pressure Cooker Studios x Playtopia Walking Tour (5th Dec), where we welcomed delegates, speakers, and friends of Playtopia into our sacred space before taking them on a facilitated city walk.

Playtopia officially kicked off on the 6th Dec, where we facilitated coffee chats and James hosted an inspiring panel, "From Concept to Console: The Art of Music and Sound Design in Gaming."

Finally, the Pressure Cookies let loose on Saturday, 7th Dec, diving into indie games and immersing ourselves in the magical world of gaming.

This week wasn’t just about celebrating games - it was about the amazing people we’ve connected with along the way. We’ve been inspired by the creativity and passion of this incredible community.

Pressure Cooker Studios brought the heat to Spinal Tap Bar in Observatory for our epic end-of-year jol!

From ridiculous (and oh-so-true) awards to Astrid owning the braai, and non-stop laughs with the Pressure Cookie crew, it was a night to remember.

A huge shoutout to Spinal Tap Bar for hosting us – the vibes were immaculate, and the fun was next level!

Exciting news to end the year!

Our brand-new studio floor will be ready in early 2025!

This state-of-the-art space, featuring a Foley/ADR stage and an additional Atmos mix suite, is a huge step forward in our mission to pioneer the African Audio Arts Industry.

A big thank you to Martin Pilchner and Jacob van der Westhuizen for bringing this vision to life.

"We’ve always been about pairing the right talent with the right project. It’s a privilege to have Martin design another world-class studio for us and Jacob execute this high-spec vision. With the addition of a dedicated Foley stage, we’re elevating sound design not just for our studio but for the African continent," says CEO James Matthes.

A Powerful Campaign with a Powerful Message.

The recent South African breweries Sharp campaign, directed by Fausto Becatti, delivers a vital reminder about the dangers of drinking and driving. Told through real stories of loss, these heart-wrenching spots are a call for change.

Music and audio were key to bringing this message to life, and we couldn’t be prouder of our intern, Kadin Madgwick, who composed the original music for the campaign. This marks his first commercial pitch win, and with no client notes, it’s a testament to his talent and the success of our internship programme.
