Members of the Independent Black Filmmakers Collective, Independent Producers Organisation, Animation S.A., South African Film Empowerment, Documentary Filmmakers Association of South Africa, various captains of industry, community partners and allies of the creative industry gathered outside the Department of Trade and Industry in Tshwane on Thursday to hold a peaceful picket to voice their growing concerns over the The Department of Trade, Industry and Competition South Africa's failure to address critical issues impacting the industry.

A memorandum was handed over demanding accountability for the funds budgeted through Treasury to support the industry and an investigation into alleged misgovernance regarding the allocated budget. The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) is looking for a dynamic leader to drive the growth of South Africa's film and video industry.

Position: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Contract: 5-Year Fixed Term
Location: Johannesburg
Salary: R1,850,000 - R2,288,200 per annum

Responsibilities:
• Lead and implement NFVF's strategies.
• Build relationships with stakeholders.
• Ensure financial and operational compliance.
• Drive change and transformation.
• Promote NFVF's culture and values.

Requirements:
• NQF Level 8 in Public Administration/Governance or Business Management (Master's preferred).
• 15 years of management experience, with 5 years at an executive level in the public sector.

In October 2024 the National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) updated you as the industry and its stakeholders of unforeseen disruptions to our workflow. This had an impact on the approval process of funding grants for PESP5, causing unexpected delays.

The team is working to ensure that the approvals for PESP5 will be released in April 2025.

We understand that these disruptions have ripple effects on you as applicants. We are working tirelessly with our newly appointed Council to expedite the resolution of all the bottlenecks in the process.
