THE DEPUTY MINISTER VISITS THE SET OF ONE PIECE SEASON 2

Visited by the Deputy Minister and the Mayor of Cape Town most recently, this Film Afrika-serviced production is one of the largest Netflix productions going down in Africa right now and a very big production in the world at large.

For the 40 SA FILM Academy trainees and interns - and 4 ACE candidates currently engaged in a Netflix-sponsored BHTS video on the unsung heroes behind the scenes on the production - it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work side-by-side - gaining hands-on experience - in company with local and international industry icons in this major Netflix production, not to mention the 62 SA FILM Academy alumnae/i as role models for where their career paths are heading!!!!

AWESOME FILMSCAPE VIRTUAL PRODUCTION CINEMATOGRAPHY AND LIGHTING IN THE VOLUME MASTER CLASS

The FILMSCAPE team, Hennie Pretorius, Chris Gardner and Loubser Claassen conducted an awesome Cinematography & Lighting In the Volume Master Class together with ReelPartners in the majestic FILMSCAPE LED volume at Atlantic Studios in Montague Gardens.

The MICTSETA audit team - who were in attendance at the time - were literally blown away.

EPIC FILM AFRIKA CINEMATOGRAPHY & LIGHTING DOP, DIMMER OP & GAFFER SKILLS PROGRAMME MASTER CLASS - HELD AT MEDIA FILM SERVICE!!!

The intensive Cinematography and Lighting DoP, Dimmer Ops and Gaffer workshop, we held at Media Film Service in Paarden Eiland – with top industry coaches hot off the set of Film Afrika-serviced productions One Piece – Project Renaissance and Virgil, - legendary DoP George Amos; Dimmer Operator Yanga Ngam & Rigging Gaffers, Patrick Frieslaar & Vusi Velaphi & promising, aspiring Dimmer Op SAFA trainee Siyabonga Zulu - which was an integral part of our FILM AFRIKA MICT SETA SA FILM Academy ReelPartners Cinematography and Lighting Skills programme.

It was without-a-doubt - one of the most specialized, intensive, fascinating, probably-once-in-a-life-time, hands-on experiential learning workshop at the hands of true industry icons and masters-of-their-crafts.

Special thanks to MEDIA FILM SERVICE for so generously and graciously hosting us and providing such amazing equipment on a busy Saturday morning; to Film Afrika and Marisa Sonemann-Turner for providing the Dimmer Ops gear for our demo - and to George, Yanga, Patrick and the Team for offering your valuable time up for this awesome workshop!!!

109 LICENSES SO FAR- AND OUT ON THE ROAD EVERY DAY!

The quiet, unassuming, determined, eternally-patient presence of our professional driving instructor, Mr Sibo Xhakane cannot be overlooked or under-estimated.

Sibo is a man of infinite patience and tolerance and there is little or no doubt that he has been instrumental in carefully guiding the majority of our FILMGRO DRIVING ACADEMY beneficiaries to their ultimate success!!!

Thank you a thousand times Sibo and Thank You too to our FILMGRO DRIVING ACADEMY Manager Cindy Mkhwanazi for managing the bookings so carefully and methodically.

AWESOME HOMEBREW MASTERCLASS

Last week witnessed an intense, awesome IT Engineering; Gear Management; Studio & Production Management & Engineering; Data and Media Management & Broadcasting - Studio & Production Management Master Class presented by Homebrew Films.

Our implementation partner as ever is the MICTSETA and we were privileged to have a VIP guest from the MICTSETA, Nambita Kasi-Ndzuzo

MC Courtney Jephta introduced the Master Class followed by HBC & FILMSCAPE GM Charl Marais on Studio & Production Management; Andi Siwela on Gear Management; Kurt Roberts on IT Engineering & Engineering in general and last-but-most-definitely-not-least, Mayesha Fredericks sharing valuable information on Data and Media Management & Broadcasting...

There were many cogent questions from the capacity audience and the entire workshop was immensely enjoyed by everyone.
