In response to the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) releasing their 6th Assessment Report (AR6), Brad Farrell recorded this special episode of Successfully Sustainable from COVID isolation. This episode serves to dive deeper into the core motivations and ethic behind why we started this podcast, as well as to try to raise awareness of the dire state of climate change on Earth. Brad unpacks some of the root causes, separates sustainability from any sort of established identity, delves into the differences between valid reasons and lazy justifications, and finally get into some practical actions YOU can take to start to reduce your impact on the environment.

SUCCESSFULLY SUSTAINABLE EPISODE SIX: DAVID LE PAGE
Use code 'SuccessSustain15' for 15% off all products on aetherherbalistapothecary.com
On today's release of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report, the United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, said that it should be a "code red for humanity".
David Le Page is the coordinator and interim chair of Fossil Free South Africa, the South African campaign for fossil free divestment. Fossil fuel divestment is one of six key ‘nudges’ that could tip humanity towards rapid decarbonisation. Academics argue most responsible investment practice in SA has little substance. Fossil Free SA want to change that with real movements of capital into robust fossil-free ESG funds. If you want to hear more about how you can help change the way that the institutions that you are a part of contribute directly and indirectly to climate change and the ongoing validation of fossil fuel corporations, you need to listen to this episode!

MONOLOGUE MOMENT - ZOE PRINSLOO
At the end of each episode, we give our incredible guests an opportunity to talk about something that's on their minds, that they feel people need to hear.
Zoe's monologue focuses on one of the MOST important takeaways of our mission here at Successfully Sustainable - the fact that EVERYONE can make a difference. Every little bit helps, and we need to look towards our future. If we all believe in our own capability to make a change, and focus on implementing more and more little changes, we'll be able to save our beautiful planet. We need to make sure that our kids and future generations can walk on our stunning beaches, and swim with turtles, and the only way that we can do that is by believing in our individual and collective ability to make a difference!
If you haven't listened to Episode 3 of Successfully Sustainable with @zoeprinsloo from @saveafishie_sa for more ideas on how you can make a difference with small, easy changes starting at home, you really should! The link is in our bio, so get on it!
