Starting your own little business is pretty amazing but so difficult. In the beginning you don't know where to start, you have so many questions and alot going on in your mind.

You think that you are not ready and that you'll start when you are.

You know what, you'll always feel that way. For years people told me to just start, I'd always say I want to start but never did and made excuses instead.

Start with what you know, the 'nothing' you think you know could actually be alot. You'll get a hold of things and go with the flow.

So the beginning of the year I landed in hospital and had time to think and brainstorm. I though that if I don't start now I never will and when I got home I sat down and began. I was scared, scared that I'm not going to know what to do or look stupid.

I attended a workshop and wow I actually knew much more than I thought I did. I learned one or two new things in the workshop and I thought I just wasted my time and money but No I didn't. It gave me the the confidence to go further with what I started because my problem is I doubt myself all the time and the fact that I know alot more than many that's just starting out gave me the boost I needed.

The best way to learn is on the job, so yes start your thing and learn as you go along. It all started with a blog (a hobby) and after years I saw an opportunity and today I do Companies social media pages. So yes, baby steps and remember this quote...

Yes! It's that time of the year again, Provisional taxpayers need to submit their bi-annual return (IRP6) to SARS.

The due date is no later than the 31st of August 2020 so you need to spark and submit your IRP6 in due time to avoid penalties and interest. SARS is very strict when it comes to Provisional tax Submissions and payments and they impose a 10% penalty if submitted late.

All you need to know about 2020 Tax filing.

𝗦𝗔𝗥𝗦 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗼-𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗮𝘅 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻

The South African Revenue Service (SARS) has announced that over 3 million individual taxpayers will not have to file tax returns due to the organisation’s auto-assessments.

From the 1st the 31st of August we are happy to launch a mass launch of our auto assessment process, which means that about 3.1 million individual SMS’s will be sent out and it will advise you of an assessment we have done on your behalf."

But many taxpayers have already received sms's this week and those that have logged in to efilling could either accept or edit their assessments.

If you're unhappy with your assessment you can use the SARS App/eFiling to edit and add documents.

An auto-assessment which is not specifically accepted, edited or rejected by an individual taxpayer will automatically be filed if the third party data used to generate the assessment is correct and complete.

The filing season will begin on 1 September and close in January 2021.

"For e-filing, the closing date is 16th of November 2020, for taxpayers who want to file at a SARS branch the closing date is 22 October 2020 and for provisional taxpayers who file electronically the closing date is 29 January 2020," said Kieswetter.

Individuals who want to file at SARS branches need to make an appointment due to Covid-19 regulations.

On the 30th of July already 62300 taxpayers filed their returns and they already had attempts of fraud.

Creating tax social media posts gives me all the insight and information I need in order to be updated with SARS so I'm sharing it with you all so you can be updated too 🤓💻 💵

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀
Now is a good time to get your tax matters ready to ensure a smooth filing experience! Make sure that you have received your IRP5/IT3(a)s and other tax certificates like medical certificate, retirement annuity fund certificate and any other 3rd party data that are relevant in determining your tax obligations. Reset your eFiling username and password if you have forgotten them. Update your personal information such as banking details, address and contact details online on eFiling or the SARS MobiApp.

In August, SARS will be assessing a significant number of taxpayers automatically. Where they have the required information they will provide you with a proposed assessment without the need to file a tax return. This enables you to view edit, accept your proposed assessment from the comfort of your home or office using eFiling or SARS MobiApp. If you accept the outcome you do not have to file a tax return at all.

Today the coronavirus infections has gone over the 200 mark in South Africa as predicted but amid all the bad news of the Covid-19 pandemic there is something positive to look out for so remain hopeful and positive.

On Thursday the Department of Small Business Development announced a Debt Relief Fund is on the horizon to assist small businesses impacted by the novel coronavirus.

"The Debt Relief Fund is aimed at providing relief on existing debts and repayments, to assist SMMEs during the period of the Covid-19 State of Disaster," the department said.

My name is Nadia, I'm a , blogger and lover of social media. It all started when I decided to start my blog from scratch a few years ago, I did the website to the social media pages and from there the day to day managing.
