Some weeks imposter syndrome is stronger than others, and quitting feels like the easy thing to do, you might even convince yourself it’s the right thing to do.

But the magic doesn’t happen in the easy choices. But Babe! You can do hard things!!

This has been my most challenging 2 months work wise, and now that I’m starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, I know that quitting was not the right thing to do.

When it feels difficult, push through. Wait till you’re on the other side to make big decisions.

Sometimes we are spending so much time trying to figure out our content pillars and getting it perfect, that we miss the simplicity and effectiveness of simple marketing phases.

So here are three pillars for you to get the ball rolling:
Grow > content that brings people to you, content that creates engagement, content that makes them say " I like these guys!"

Sell > content about your product or service, this can be educational or a blatant sell. Content that makes them say "Ooh, I need this."

Retain > content that shows how loved you are, testimonials, your brand values, your community outreach, content that makes them say "These guys have the same values I have"

Visual Content - Although a super curated feed is no longer what people are looking for, people are still attracted to visually appealing content. The key is to find the sweet spot between relatable and good-looking.

Interactive content - Are you posting content that leaves space for interaction, asking questions, creating polls, and telling stories? Basically, throwing the ball back at your audience to make them know you want them to be here.

A clear call to action - Make sure your audience knows exactly what you want them to do.

Paid ads - The benefit of paid ads is targeting exactly who you are looking for, and not waiting for them to find you.

Sometimes we are in our industry for so long, that we forget the language we use, is actually not general, and that people that who aren't in our industry don't know the lingo.

Make sure the language you're using about your product and service is simple and easy to understand.

Rather than saying " I systematically create cohesion in your home."
Just say "I help you organise the mess."

Imagine going to a Pizzaria that serves sushi, fish and chips as well as pizza, I'm not sure I would trust any of the meals.

Sometimes I forget about how far I've come because where I "think" I need to be, seems far away.

Here are some comparisons to remind myself that I am growing and moving forward.

In 2020 I was too depressed to get out of bed, this year I have the will and energy to go to the gym and actually enjoy it.

In 2020 my business crumbled (like many of you experienced as well) and I had no idea where I was going, today I am secure in my Digital marketing business.

In the past I really struggled with criticism, today I can take it for what it is and use advice when I see it will improve what I currently have.

In the past I let people walk over me, because I wanted to please everyone. Today I am able to set boundaries and still be my kind and giving self, without letting people use me.

When chatting with a new client about their goals, money is often one of the main things that come up, now, don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with wanting to make money, in fact, it is a necessity, but do you know what your deeper reason is?

When we are looking at the money only, we struggle to find our brand values and personality, that's why I love this question, "What matters more than money?"
Because this is where your ideal client will connect, your ideal client doesn't care about your profit, they care about why you started, why this matters, why this product or service is changing lives.

Create consistency with your brand using colours πŸ™Œ

Do you know what the message is behind your brand's colours, in the images I have put down a couple examples, but a simple google search can give you more info on colour psychology.

My colours, for example, say 'Reliable, warm & creative'

But using them in the right way is also important.

Choose the following:
A dark neutral > This will be used mostly for text, it will be your most readable colour, and it can also be the main colour in your logo.
A light neutral > This will be a colour that compliments your dark neutral and will be used as a base colour.
Main accent > This one is to grab attention, you can use it for buttons and icons, anything you need to accent.
Secondary accent > This one is optional, it can be a little out there, for when you want to bring serious attention to something.

In my example, I've used a screenshot of my new website (under construction).
I've used the dark neutral for text as well as in my logo, light neutral is visible in my logo as it compliments my dark neutral, I will also use it as a base colour in some sections. I've used my accent colour to emphasise my brand message. I won't be using my secondary accent much, but I have used it as a hover colour to indicate which page you're on, I will also use it on final call-to-action buttons, this way these buttons will stand out.
