We were lucky to have found a job for a few months, which was situated inside this amazing game reserve called Tala, in KwaZulu-Natal near camperdown/ Pietermaritzburg.
If you looking for a great day outing this is definitely worth it. You can expect to see rhino, zebra, giraffe, blesbok, warthog, hippo, kudu and more. We also had great bird sightings.
Not only does Tala have the game it aslo has amazing 4x4 tracks to drive for the beginner to advanced, and let's not forget a great pool for the family to enjoy.

Few moons ago we went the Underberg.
Won't state why but it wasn't a good end to our experience there..
The one great thing was I made new friends! These guys were the workers at a campsite we stayed at!!
Coolest guys and hardest workers ever!
Jake, Mimbe, Myself and Khosi

Will miss these guys!

We left on a day the EFF was trying to make drama in and around the underberg. Luckily we didnt experience any it. Our next destination was Tala game reserve near camperdown in KwaZulu-Natal.
Updates to come... just another roller coaster ride...

We visited Glengarry holiday farm a few moons ago.

This is situated in the Midlands near Kamberg in the Drakensberg area. We had our own private abultions and wash up area. What a treat!!
This place is definitely doing something right!
They offer camping and self catering chalets.
Bar, restaurant and an amazing pool and more.

Good place for trout fishing and tubing!
I'd definitely recommend this place if you want a clean, friendly and awesome place for a getaway.

Thanks to Tyre Zone in Ballito for their awesome service.

We got a very slow puncture in our awesome Maxxis tyres!!
I couldn't find the hole after a good few tries.
Turned out to be a tiny pin prick on the side wall.

This was definitely caused by a metal wire or something similar.

We weren't charged a fortune and the service was friendly and super quick.
We pulled in and our landy was worked on within minutes. Even though they were pretty busy..
This was great service.

👊We tackel the Sani Pass 👊

Word got around that there might be snow in the higher elevations of the Drakensberg 🇿🇦 and Lesotho 🇱🇸 so we decided to hit the road and tackel the famous Sani Pass in absolutely terrible weather!!

We unfortunately didnt see any snow but it was cold and raining. We couldn't stay long on the top as the weather turned from bad to worse in a short few hours!

Driving up the pass was an experience we wouldn't forget but the drive down was super dodgy.

The tar road stopped at the SA border post. So it's still worth making this part of your bucket list

😃Day 116 to Day 139😃

We head back to the Underberg and once again camp at khotso. We stayed here for awhile as we ended up doing some work at the campsite for a 3rd party.

We used this opportunity to visit Sani pass, do some insane white water rafting and just enjoy this beautiful area of the drakensberg.

😃Day 114 to Day 116😃

We drove down to the coast and stayed at the Bluff Eco Park
This campsite is the cheapest we found along the North Coast of Kzn.
Definitely worth it. We'll priced at R100 pppn.
This campsite has a pool, kids playground, lush grass and best of all were the bathrooms!
Definitely the best and cleanest bathrooms we have experienced since being on the road!

Only one down side is that you need to drive to the beach. But at least you don't pay a ridiculous amount of money to camp. 3 days camping here is like one at the more expensive campsites near the beach.

We visited the awesome Howick Falls. Definitely worth a visit. Free entry and safe parking, so all you need todo is enjoy the spectacular view!
So glad we stopped and made the time to view this amazing waterfall.

🙂 Khotso Lodge and Horse Trails🙃

Situated a few kms outside Underberg and on your way to Drak gardens you will find this amazing campsite, backpacker / lodge.

Well maintained and very beautiful this campsite has alot going for it.

Plenty todo from stunning walks on the massive property, horse rides ,tube rides, Lesotho trips and more.

Accommodation on offer is camping, great backpacker facilities, private on-suit rooms, rondavels and a huge log cabin.

The campsite has great facilities and bathrooms. Even boasts a camp kitchen!

Any vehicle overlanding truck can make it to Khotso

Ask owners if you can bring pets.

Price for camping was R360 for 2 people.

Looking for some adventure and wanting to hit the rivers in the area, we found this!

Tube rides!!!

We passed this place a few times while we were camping up in the drakensberg mountains the passed few weeks.

So we stopped and spoke to the owner Steve Black from Khotso Lodge & Horse Trails
What an interesting and friendly guy!

So he offers tube rides for R150 a go.

We ended up launching our boat and hitting the river for a quick paddle.
Super fun and easy smalls rapids to contend with! No drama at all! Just heeps of fun!

So looking for another campsite we decided to give khotso horse trails ago, which is situated a short drive from the tube rides... Bonus!

🙂 Garden Castel Drakensberg 🙃

We left our Cobham campsite and returned back to Garden Castel in the Southern Drakensberg.
3 reasons we came back here:
Cheaper camping
More beautiful
And we have cell reception so we can post our YouTube videos and other social media content!!

Wow. Did we freeze. Plenty of rain and very cold weather. Single digits for days on end..

🙂 Cobham Drakensberg 😃

After our scary tyre rotation in Underberg we headed to Cobham. A government campsite run by Ezemvelo Kzn Wildlife.
Armed with our Rhino card we only paid R170 for both of us to camp here for the night...

Very beautiful and peaceful campsite. This area doesn't boast the high mountains like the southern area of the drakensberg, but non the less absolutely stunning!

😀 Day 90 😀

We left our beautiful campsite in the mountains and went to town to get our awesome maxxis tyres rotated.

Omg was I nervous! The 4 post lift doesn't work for our landy and I wish the tyre guys would listen to me.
They almost put the lift supports through our external tanks....
And tried balancing the defender several times..

This is exactly why I watch and supervise any work that is been done to our defender!

Love our Maxxis Razor tyres!!

Our defender will never go on a 4 post lift again!!

Day 80 to Day 89

🙂 Garden Castel Drakensberg 🙃

We left the East coast of South Africa and headed inland towards the famous Drakensberg mountains.

We started in the southern part of Drakensberg and camped at . Better know as Garden Castle Drakensberg.

So little did we know this is a hidden Gem that many campers don't know about. Most campers camp at the entrance to the resort at the Lower campsite which isn't even close to as beautiful, peaceful and quiet as this Gem.

It's situated 4km up a pot holed road once you enter the fancy resort. After 4km you think you are all alone and far from everyone!!
Just how we like it!!

We stayed at a few campsites in the southern Drakensberg and this is definitely the best one by far!!!!!
