This week is Child Protection Week in South Africa (29 May - 04 June). We at Face Of Emalahleni would like to raise awareness and show our support during this week and beyond.
What is child protection week?
National Child Protection Week is commemorated in the country annually to raise awareness and promote children's rights of children as enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa and the Children's Act (Act No. 38 of 2005).
Protecting children from violence, exploitation and abuse is not only a basic value but also an obligation clearly set out in Article 28 of the South African Constitution.
If you know of or see a friend, family member or neighbour being abused, please help them by speaking out. Don't turn a blind eye. See the support numbers and info below.
