Gaogakwe Ofentse Moholoagae known as SkaPhace,a 22 year old Bloemfontein born and bred phenomenal woman.I am the second child of my parents,I love my family so much they are literally the best people I know. A TB survivor and living with a chronic disease known as SLE.
Ever since I could remember since primary,I loved books and I was very energetic.Lover of mathematics,was in the top 10 since grade 8 until grade 12,played Hokkey in matric and I was also part of the debating team.Became a monitor as well,must say High school was pretty amazing this side.A graduate from UFS,where I studied Bachelor of Science in Statistics and Accounting.Yes,a double major and pretty smart as well. Had my share of academic success at UFS,was awarded the best 2nd year student in Statistics and I’m a Golden Key Member.Recently started working as an intern at SASSA here in Bloemfontein.
One might say I am a perfectionist.I have this idea that if you do something give it your all or don’t do it all. I am a radio broadcaster currently at CUTFM,an event MC and right now a jockey at Magos Media. I MC at Windmill Casino,had a good run in the industry so far.Had a couple of features like Speculum Magazine,Bloem Girls Rock,Moving On’Up with Kani Pitso,GetRealBFN and worked with Free State Online on the FS Virtual Party.love fashion,putting together different items is very thrilling and exciting. Which is one of the reasons I started . A movement that happens every Friday! where you can wear baggy clothes,chunky shoes,big earrings,literally anything out of the norm. Which has now turned into a business,selling shirts(R200), bucket hats(R150),beanies(R139)and hoodies(R300). The movement had its first event in March 2020 called &Boujee which was hosted at The Zone with great turnout.
Women’s Month is literally the only month where every woman is celebrated,regardless of who and what they are or represent.A month where we give flowers to all the woman. Because a woman is someone who plays a very important role in this life we are living,a woman is strong and literally does everything to protect her loved ones. Stand up for what they believe in as well.
Not a lot is being done when it comes to GBV.Because of social media,let me say media in general most of us are aware of what’s happening in the world even though you might not know the right term for it. We are aware,we see things on the net. We might know that a stand must be taken but as much as we would like for a change to happen it’s going to take a while before it does. It’s very sickening actually in my opinion that because of your gender or what you identify yourself as you get brutally beaten,raped or even murdered.
There are a lot of woman out there who are qualified for certain positions but because the person is a woman they aren’t given the chance. They get belittled in the work place,with this mentality that they can’t do certain jobs. One is one of the issues we face as woman on a daily. Inequality in the workplace. Or having to sleep with superiors in order to get a particular job. More light must be shined on issues like this. You might also get that other woman are being portrayed a certain way because of how they look,dress which sometimes leads to bullying. We need to accept the fact that ‘hare tswane rele batho’ and we will never. We need to accept people for what they are,then we can move forward.
Woman empowerment in simple terms means to empower/give strength /support to every single woman out there even if you don’t know them or their story. It can be through motivation,being there emotionally/physically,letting someone know that they are perfect the way they are...which they are honestly because the isn’t anyone else out there like them. Accepting a person for what they choose to do,not judging their decisions. Literally just hyping up a fellow woman for what they are doing for society.
OMG in the next five years..mhhhmm welll I’d probably still be MC’ing,making sure that every woman out there know what they are capable of. Probably one of the best fashion influencer in SA or even the world. I see my movement doing great things,featuring with your fashion stores and just taking over the world. Having my own apartment and car. At the end of the day I just want to make my parents proud,they will definitely reap what they sow with me. Also I just want to be at peace,nothing makes me happier than that. Be the great you know you can be!
