Let them.

I was reminded yet again today that the 'opinions' of others don't matter one bit. When a person with experience speaks, I listen with intent.

Please don't let people with zero knowledge or experience get you down this year. Step out and take those chances. Be bold, be you, be free. Learn along the way and most importantly - ask for advice if you need help getting your business off the ground.

Go ahead and create that page, design that logo (with a free tool if you need to) but just go for it. Start small, but start.

People will talk - let them - word of mouth remains number one always 👌

I am not the resolutions type. I live one day at a time and usually spend the last day of the year reflecting on lessons learned. Making a good old gratitude list before bed, not just this day, but every day, helps me see things from a different perspective.

How much spells would a spellcheck spell if a spellcheck could check spells?

Many of them, in fact, all of them. It's very important to spellcheck and check your sentence structure before posting to the world wide web.
You might end up with a beautiful design and realize you've misspelled a word. I mean seriously, who does that? 😅

I use Grammarly. They have a free option available too. Google it.

In this post, Grammarly flagged the "much" in the first sentence and suggested the correct term usage which is many. My writing skills are by no means a reflection of how well this program works. English is my second language OK.

Have no idea what a CTA is? A CTA is a “Call to action” button or text that people can click to get your offer or Find out more!

The second slide in the post refers to visual hierarchy and it is something that permeates through all types of communication.

It is used in advertising, design, art, journalism etc. Designers use it intentionally to guide people to the areas they want the most attention on. It is a clue as to how our brains work and analyse data.
Our brains automatically scan for solutions. If you put some effort into how the brain works, your marketing will improve.

Our brains are largely overwhelmed by the amount of sensory input its subjected to in everyday life. Make sure you insert proper CTA’s (Call to actions) into your posts on social media to take people where you want them to go.

The structure can be as follows:
1. Present your reader with a problem or question (Identify the problem)
2. Identify/Relate to the problem
3. Supply the solution and make it clear that you have the solution
4. Why this solution has been rewarding to you
If someone is drawn in enough to actually read your written content, make it easy for them to read more and click those CTA’s.

Example:
1. Tired of coming up with new ideas on what to cook for yourself every night? There’s a simpler way (Insert CTA)
2. Been there, done that, got the “I’m frustrated can you tell?” T-shirt… Until now…
3. The new Dinner-for-one App has been life changing
4. For the first time ever, I feel like I’m being rewarded for not buying in bulk.
Go on - Try it out for yourself (Insert link/CTA)
Gone are the days of buying in bulk to leave food spoiling in the fridge and washing the dishes every night.
How does Netflix and chill with a delicious meal sound to you? It sounds like heaven to me.
Restaurants all over have come together to cater for the singles and for the first time in a long time I feel seen.
Download the app here: (Insert CTA) and if it’s not for you simply delete it again.
End example.

You see, you need to take the brain on a problem and solution journey with the end result being: You have the solution! And the solution is available right now!

💮 I never thought that I would say these words but I absolutely do love Canva.♥️

As a proper designer I was intimidated at first, mainly by the ease of design and user-friendly platform.

I thought: “Well now everyone can be their own social media manager with epic designs and I will become disposable. Another digital platform has replaced my skills. (I can be over sensitive at times, as you can tell) Although this thought holds some truth, it is really not the case.

👉 A platform cannot replace my knowledge of design and colour, content creation and post structure; but it can push you in the right direction to get your designs looking A-class.

It is incredible that the social media giant holds so much power – Your social media can make or break your business believe it or not – if you let it.
Social media has to be used in conjunction with other marketing techniques to ensure interest and engagement should you lose access to your accounts.
This happened to me. It cannot be avoided and it cannot be prevented. I have seen so many people post recently about how they suddenly lost access to their social media accounts. It reminded me of a few things that I think are important.
My loss took place on Facebook to be completely honest. I had a group with over 100k members and one day my group was just gone. Erased as if it never existed. Off course I contacted the “Facebook Team” and have not heard back from anyone since. I have checked from other profiles and nada, nothing zilch has popped up. All my hard work was wasted. I’ve built a network with no backup.
This led to me starting from scratch again and I am a better marketer for it. I gave up on Marketplace income for other businesses and I started a website of my own, set up my pages on Social Media and slowly started building a community again focusing on one thing at a time.
Here are my suggestions to build a sustaining marketing strategy:

- Build a website, or start a blog as your main channel of marketing (the rest can flow from there)

- Build your e-mail list (E-mail marketing is the surest way to reach your audience, even without social media pages)

- Google Ads will get you clients and increase your income – This is a fact. (You have to spend money to make money)

In this way, you won’t put all your eggs in one basket. Work smarter not harder. Distribute the eggs evenly. You’ll thank yourself in the end.

Just don't my friends. I have helped a few people set up new accounts recently and I get how tempting it can be to have it 'look like you are winning at the Insta Game'.

In the end it will hurt your business. People see fake from a mile away. Just keep it real mmmmkay 💚

So, this is basically my Hashtag strategy (In a nutshell) # 💮

I’ve used the most common hashtags as examples but I’ve found that I get more reach with hashtags that have not been used as frequently (Under 100K).

Call it Niche hashtags if you will, market specific tags will get you seen. These require some time and effort but well worth it when you see your reach go up.

So ask yourself 3 questions:

1. What do I do? Do I sell a service or a product?

💮 I help businesses run epic social media pages, either DIY training or by doing it for them. I point them in the direction of great tools that I’ve been using for myself and other clients and leave the decision up to them whether to hire me or spend hours figuring out the tools for themselves.

2. Who is my target market?

💮Business Owners, Entrepreneurs, freelancers

3. What is my target market interested in? What can I offer them?

💮Marketing Strategy, Online management tools, content ideas, Social Media Tips and Info, Lead generation, re-marketing

Furthermore, industry SMM professionals have recently announced that it is best to use 8 – 15 Hashtags per post. I will be trying this out in my next few posts on my personal and client brands and let you know how it goes. 😁

🌵Yes, content makes the world go round. User generated content means: anything your clients put on an online platform about your business.

OPTION 1: I often use emails (the reviews we receive from happy clients in email form) and paste the wording onto a template to share to various social profiles. I also use the Google Reviews. I know alot of people stick to screenshots to show the validity of what they are posting, but even those can be faked. Just be sure to stay honest (verbatim) when doing these types of post so that if you ever need to prove yourself, you'll be able to do so with a smile on your face.😁

OPTION 2: If people are sharing your product/service on their social profiles, ask them if you may repost their content to your feed. It's original, it's user generated and it creates an emotional connection to the rest of your audience. It shows that you are genuinely invested, that you care, that you are connected and that you are interested in the person behind the purchase.

OPTION 3: Run a competition and ask people to enter by uploading any creative content in regards to your product or service. Photo or video, you can use it in the future too. (Reshare entries on your feed and keep these on file for throwback posts) 😊

OPTION 4: Post a picture of a cactus and talk about anything emotional. Give it a try 😂 🌵

Basically, “Think before you ink” right.

Choosing a layout in colour scheme can be a nightmare for anyone on their social platforms, especially Instagram. We are looking for flowy people, make it flow!!!

Personally, I’ve started using Canva to help me with colour schemes and design needs. Everybody knows – or should know- that your written content is just as important as your designs when posting to social media. Great designs will get you far, but great content blocks will get you even further.

Things to consider when constructing your posts:

- Does this next post fit into the overall message that I’m trying to convey with my brand? (And if not, how can I integrate the two opposing thoughts)
- Does this post have a stated problem and clear solution?
- Am I adding Value of any kind or just posting for the sake of it?

See, I have done a lot of research on how to effectively sell using social posts – YOU NEED TO STATE A PROBLEM and OFFER THE SOLUTION (End in point: you are that solution) while placing a CTA (Call to action) Button in the first few lines of your post. People are tired of reading; people have become obsessed with immediate satisfaction.

So, if you took the time to read this post, instead of just hitting like – you might be one of a kind, my kinda people. My DM’s are always open to collaborations, questions and answers.

There is no wrong or right way to do this social media thing, but here is a wrong or a right way to brad yourself. I’ve seen accounts who use Comic Sans as their primary Font achieve great success – beats me, but I’ve seen it done. Not that I’m hating on Comic Sans; but I am somewhat of a Font Snob if that is even a thing.

I’ve seen people trying to implement big-name brand strategies that simply does not work – It’s me, I’m people, because I have followed many a “grow your Instagram” account types in the hopes of growing my Instagram – forgetting that I need to add value to my community.

I’m switching over to a more personal approach in the hopes of actually helping people.

- Research Hashtags on Display Purposes for your products/brands/location/niche/community and use them (you can use 30 Hashtags per post on Instagram)
- Always ask your community to contact you and supply your preferred contact information in your posts.
