An early morning trip to the local market for super fresh eggs and avocado, the bakery for English muffins, the deli for smoked ham. Cracked pepper and chili oil to seal the deal. Lovely start to a fine Saturday and a crisp 24c

Somtum (Papaya salad) is Thailand’s National dish. I love it spicy. The texture, the heat, the sweetness and sourness all work together harmoniously.

Koh phangan the home of one of the biggest beach parties on the planet, “The full moon party”. Here’s my bungalow right on the beach ($10 a night). The island is pretty big with heaps to do. Be careful they have a lot of motorcycle accidents and deaths. DONT RIDE A SCOOTER PI**ED!!

Light snack on soi Bukhao in Pattaya. What an absolute treat. First time I’ve tried the cevapcici. Grilled minced pork and beef in lepinja bread(Balkan flatbread). Soft and warm with sliced onions and sour cream on the side. 129 baht $5 bucks.

Krabi Hot springs. 45c water was a real treat. A must visit if you’re ever in the area.

Kayaking the mangroves in krabi. Takes a bit out of you especially when the current isn’t on your side, lol. A great way to get up close with Thailand nature.

Railay beach is only accessible by boat from Ao Nang (Krabi province). It’s a beautiful secluded location with a few resorts, bars, shopping, activities and also some small caves. Very popular is the rock climbing. These skilled individuals power up these cliffs like Spider-Man. I just chilled out, had a few beers, and watched these animals from a distance. Well worth the 20-30 min boat trip.

Koh lanta is one of my favorite islands in southern Thailand . This beach bar was so much fun. Heaps of accommodation close by . A little backpacker haven full of cool kids from across the globe

Not the most glamorous pics, but a fun way to travel Thailand. You can go anywhere using the rail network and it’s cheap. I traveled to Surat Thani on an overnight train which takes between 10-12hrs. 700 baht($21) will get you an upper berth in 2nd class as seen in my pics with aircon. It’s a tight space but manageable.
I bring my own beers and make a few sandwiches and pasta salad for when I get hungry. Food is available onboard and sellers frequent the carriages during stops. 1500pp ($45) for a sleeper cab (1st class) that’s a private room perfect for a family. Aircon, electric, toilet, all in your private space. An excellent and hassle free way to see Bangkok. Chaopraya river boat shuttles are only 16 baht or 50 cents a journey. Great views and loads of attractions along the way to visit.
