S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 has a confirmed release date of 9/5/24

Huge for a game being made by a developer in the Ukraine. Excited to see what these ambitious devs have cooked up in the years since their last release in 2009.

What begins as a forgettable video game adaptation ends with a strong narrative and decent enough character development. While the Fallout show fumbles more often than not, it’s an entirely likable binge show.

It still doesn’t hold a candle to other narrative entries this year. Namely; the Masterpiece of a Dune movie. Nor the dramatic masterpiece that is FX/Hulu’s Sh**un.

O o o o verwatch 2 is headed the same way Heroes of the Storm was. It has no esports scene; a wildly disinterested player base, and the most toxic community since league of legends.

Only league players are kinda nice now. Overwatch players? Not so much.

I hated Dragons Dogma 2 so…. I’m probably just wrong?

I think hard games should be hard; but rewarding as f**k.

I think story games should story hard, and not pretend at being complex sims.

I think shooter games and competitive games should be fair and skill rewarding.

I think that my opinion matters. Even though it really f**king doesn’t.

Unlike Dune the Fallout show isn’t something you can tell your dad about.

It’s not some masterpiece; hell it’s barely above tellenovella status.

The characters don’t make any sense; the action lacks an iota of self preservation and its overall “just a tv show” two episodes in and I’m waiting for a modicum of “well yeah” but nah. It’ss an overly sanitized attempt at pretend grounded and gritty.

It’s literally like lord grim dark himself wrote a book about being gritty and dark. When you in fact just have a nonsense narrative stuffed full of in**st and violence for the sake of in**st and violence and you have the audacity to call yourself lord grim dark.

Well no: you’re not lord of anything. And you’re neither grim nor dark. You’re just obsessed with taboo. I dithered. The fallout show exists. It fails to deliver on the gravitas of the wasteland, and its fails to land an iota of the humor.

It’s stuck in limbo. Of not being funny enough for satire; and not being serious enough for drama.

Episode 1 of Fallout is nonsensical and as poorly written as it is acted.

From p**s poor actor performance to nonsensical writing.

The fallout series is not off to a strong start.

TLDR: BTR has been added to Woods to create more chaos. Ground Zeroes now has a level 20+ version with better loot and a chance for Kolontay to spawn(previously exlcusive to Streets of Tarkov map) The map has also been added to quests like "The Guide, A Shooter Born in Heaven, Etc." Various other QoL improvements most notably the ammo chart has been added to tool tips for all rounds of ammunition.

Good luck and try to get Tarkov'd less than I do.

The system divides players into beginners (up to level 20 inclusive) and experienced players (level 21 and above), matchmaking for these groups will be separate:

Escape from Tarkov has now added permanently purchasable clothing in addition to it's stash space upgrades.

These options are faction specific. But now returning players and more casual players can upgrade their in-game aesthetics with real money.

Whether or not I'm on board with the recent additions of Microtransactions to Tarkov?

Yes. Yes. Yes.

Why? A more consistent form of sustained alternative revenue is the greatest path Escape from Tarkov can have to combating cheaters.

Having wrapped up my first run of Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon

I figured I'd write a quick review.

Actual critique?

Something about the game feels.... hollow...
Not in the normal way From Soft games manage.

I feel like something was just missing. It's a fantastic mech game and a fresh start for the franchise. The game is beautiful; and features so many of the publishers flare for scale and set piece fights.

Maybe it's just hard to follow up playing Tears of the Kingdom and Baldur's Gate 3 with something less.... ingenious. It is still a great game and I've thoroughly enjoyed my time with.

I look forward to finishing NG+ and NG++ for the added story missions; and being a little less... Evil then I was during my first run.

What is the single best feat for almost every class in Baldur’s gate? Spell Slinger. -1 to crit range is enormous. And it works with melee.

Cantrips are phenomenal tools. Even if you’re not using them to do damage. “Make barrel go boom!”

I wouldn’t say it’s entirely necessary for all builds. But it has great synergies with a lot of the late game items.

#2 savage attacker. How this works is you have advantage on all of your weapon attack rolls. Fantastic for pretty much every class.

#3 warcaster. Probably the best feat for your cleric possible maintaining concentration spells is massive for making the most of your guardian spirits. Which is hands down one of the most reliable sources of dmg throughput for your cleric while still enabling them to be the frontline heavy support you need.

How should you multiclass/build Karlach? First 6 Levels Barb -> 3 or 6 Fighter -> 3 Rogue Subclasses are mostly a preference choice. Frenzy is incredibly powerful.

How should you build Wyll? Warlock 6 Bard 6 (college of valor)

How should you build Gale? Let him die.

How should you build Shadowheart 3 Levels Cleric -> 9 Rogue. With a possible shift in Act 2 based on your alignment.

How should you build Halsin -> Druid daddy is perfect.

How should you build your main character?
Life Domain Cleric. Giga chad healer is the best way to survive the ruthless tactician difficulty.

How should you build the fang banger? idk rogue ( assassin) til like lvl 6 then monk for 6? No matter how you work your party a bunch of useless spell casters with cantrips for days aren't really that good.

What are the best feats? For Melee? Savage Attacker is #1 prio For casters? Do you boo boo. I like my life domain cleric in full heavy armor comfy in the front lines.

Unless Armored Core 6 significantly outperforms my expectations GoTY 2023 is pretty much assured.

The players have spoken and the Incredibly polished Baldur's Gate 3 will likely be the Critic and Fan lauded GoTY.

I know Bethesda has a game coming out. But based on everything I've seen from them lately they're a pretty average Developer at the moment.

Given that Skyrim is Skyrim. Who knows... But I genuinely doubt that Starfield will be a success. With Cyberpunk 2069 levels of hype to deliver on and overwhelmingly disappointing tech demos to date. I don't even know if the game will push the meter.

All said. Tears of the Kingdom was incredibly fun; but features the wildly unfun P2W aspect of Amiibos. Not to mention one of the worst dungeon designs in the franchises history. (Fire TempleToTK meet Water TempleOoT. Players hate you both.) 6/10 I hate Amiibo's sans clearly P2W content 8.5/10 (Majora's Mask did it better)

Remnant 2 was good; but suffered from some of the worst application of artificial difficulty ever delivered. While I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the game I found it as fraught with bad decisions as it was full of excellent exploration. Gunfire Games is a much smaller studio then ALL of the other titles listed. As such they garner a 9/10 (+-1 how you feel about a AAA quality game delivered by 82 people Larian Studios Baldur's Gate 3 Dev's have nearly 400)

Armored Core 6 is the last real contender(Yes I am just writing Bethesda off at this point) and as it comes from the Studio with a 2 for 2 GoTY record. A turkey seems... unlikely. If one game could disrupt Larian Studios nearly perfect take on DND 5 E with a similarly intriguing entry... It has some incredibly tough shoes to fill.

Honorable Mention: Halls of Torment for trying to recapture the magic of both Diablo II and emulate the incredible sleeper hit Vampire Survivors.

I'll update again after playing AC:6

No what doesn't garner a mention? Yeah. It just doesn't.

*BREAKING NEWS*

Kick the record breaking new streaming platform has issued its first 0 tolerance policy suspension In response to a streamer using the “other, watch party” category to stream an MMA fight.

Streamer Ayeyobatou was playing Rainbow Six siege when users reported a 404 error site not found error.

Despite a brief interaction with the content. Kicks 0 tolerance policy only applies to content that could get them sued.

Despite having proven “flight risks” like Adin Ross(a known and well reported scammer and con artist) on their platform.

Other reports of streamer harassment on and off platform have not been actioned.

It appears the site breaking records for user accounts created and record breaking daily views is only concerned with the content that could get them sued.

Doing nothing to handle the negative aspects that could potentially create lawsuits**

**needs further research. While I’m fairly positive both harassment and monetary scams are subject to legal action in most countries; I can not completely verify that these claims are under same legal standards as I’m not a lawyer. I will reach out to both Kick.com and other legal consults for more accurate assessment.
