Dry, sunny and cool conditions continue into Tuesday across the region. High temperatures are expected to come down slightly compared to Monday and afternoon winds can be a bit breezy.

We’re kicking off the week with a burst of sunshine across the region—perfect for outdoor plans or a scenic drive through Armstrong County 🍂. But keep the umbrella handy midweek:

1) Expect a mix of clouds and sun early on in the week.
2) Rain chances increase Wednesday into Thursday with showers lingering into Friday.
3) Temperatures stay seasonably cool—highs in the 50s and lows dipping into the 30s and 40s.

PATCHY DENSE FOG IN RIVER VALLEYS THIS MORNING...

River valley fog is ongoing across much of the area this morning, with visibilities as low as one-quarter of a mile or less in localized areas.

Motorists should be prepared for rapidly fluctuating and locally poor visibility, especially along area rivers and their tributaries. Visibility will gradually improve as fog lifts by mid-morning.

FREEZE WARNING IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 9 AM EDT SUNDAY...

WHAT...Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 29 expected.

WHERE...Portions of east central Ohio, southwest and western Pennsylvania, and northern West Virginia.

WHEN...From midnight tonight to 9 AM EDT Sunday.

IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.

There are currently some showers scattered about the vicinity. We are also seeing reports of some rumbles of thunder and moderate to heavy rainfall, especially below Pittsburgh.

TURN YOUR EYES TO THE SKY! 💫☄️ 🌌

The Orionid Meteor Shower is usually active between the beginning of October through the first week of November and usually peaks between October 20 through October 22. You can see around 20 meteors per hour at the peak.
